bike2steam
It's sad to announce the passing of Colin Caddy last night, photographer, and owner of a massive transport photographic collection. Many would have come across him at model railway shows in the south with his small trade stand, and others would have had railway books with his pictures in. A railway enthusiast, and modeller with an infectious personality, and dry wit, he had an immense knowledge of local railways especially around his home of Weymouth, one of only a few enthusiasts that could name ALL the Bulleid Pacifics in numerical order, we pass condolences to his partner Rita. lapford34102
Sad news, I'd spoken to him a few times but my late father knew him quite well. Have a number of his books and not a few of his photos. Stu

Robin Brasher
Very sorry to hear of his death. He was very helpful in supplying pictures of the Swanage Railway for me. He also wrote his own short book about the Swanage Railway. I got to know him and Rita very well at the Isle of Purbeck Model Railway Group's meetings. He often used to bring dioramas of a town scene in Weymouth or a small model railway. Once he brought his collection of private owner wagons and displayed them in alphabetical order.
