RMweb Gold RThompson Posted August 29, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 29, 2016 Having seen some excellent video links being posted by various members on various threads of industrial railway systems I feel it's best to have a list of them in one place. If you wish to post a link on here, I will add them to this page when I get the chance so you don't have to go scrolling through. rope runner
A great selection of videos. The "Corby" Ironstone video is a tad misleading, as it looks like the footage was taken at Storefield quarries. The location then shifts to Cranford quarries 50 seconds in. Paul A. RMweb Gold RThompson Posted August 30, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 30, 2016 I agree with you Paul, I spotted the scene at the storefield loop and was disappointed it didn't pan round more. I've amended the title to reflect its true locations. A great selection of videos. The "Corby" Ironstone video is a tad misleading, as it looks like the footage was taken at Storefield quarries. That's a nice bit of film from Storefield. Interesting to see the mix of 3 tipplers and 2 hoppers in the same short working. One for the 'prototype for everything' department! 5050
Love the Harton video Dave, I've always regretted not visiting there when the NE was part of my sales territory. Becoming aware of the Harton railway was one of the catalysts in me adding an overhead powered industrial layout to my 'bucket list' - and Judith Edge make the kit!! The video was filmed at Westoe pit? Before he moved down here (to civilisation some would say - but I couldn't possibly comment being a foreigner myself) a clubmate of mine worked there as a fitter which, I believe, included the railway. He's just finished the Judith Edge kit for his son over in the US of A using a Spud for propulsion. He is a very experienced modeller and he commented that the kit was a bit of a challenge (but not because it is badly designed but rather that it is rather small!)
