xm607
Took this pic' today showing three generations of kit design spanning 3 decades. Original scratch built body from plasticard, (1995/6) used for the first set of resin body kits. The etch brass/white metal 24/1 designed in 2005 (Released 2014) and the latest master 3d printed 2017/2018 for a new resin kit. Today I'm concentrating on the roof detail and the cleaning up of the body ready for it's first coat of primer. More pics later. Just found this thread, awesome build, reminds me of my attempt at your resin class 25 with two motors, delrin drive and running fan, it pulled the first train on "Idleford Town" the B.N.N.R.S. O Gauge layout but since sold on, here's a couple of photo's of it. Steve.
Steve_Beattie
Great work there! Wish I could build kits that well.....
Steve_Beattie
With Mercury in retrograde it's three steps forward and two back at the moment. Was hoping to get this finished today but three windows popped out, and HD pics showed up a number of areas that need improving. Also it needs levelling. Oh that and the paint on the Rain hood over the boiler inlet orange peeled. Still- we carry on....
Steve_Beattie
Gone as far as finances will allow so sadly this model is now up on eBay. Perhaps soon I'll be able to build another and keep it for myself. Going forward I need to re-think a couple of areas. That is the height of the sideframes and the depth of the fuel/water tanks. Other then that the kit design worked out quite well I think. That and my crappy painting skills and inability to take decent pics! Next build? Class 21 - starting just after Easter.
