Hi.

I have a possible project where I would want to either, acquire or make, some bogies in 7mm scale.

I believe they are Y25 bogies, but I'm not sure.

Failing being able to buy the bogies in 7mm, I need to get hold of some dimensioned drawings to produce my own, 7mm scale version.

I have contacted Bachmann, who produce these bogies in 4mm scale, and they have been most unhelpful.

I have attached a photo of the type of bogie I need.

Anybody know where I could get some drawings ?

Possibly because it is Hornby that have modelled a RTR version of the Sambre et Meuse cast Y25 bogie! https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/shop/Hornby-new-for-2017/ews-ygb-seacow-wagon.html

Bachmann do the fabricated one, which has a very different appearance. http://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/bogies/e1b1db02a

Thanks for the info.

Your bogies are a different type to the ones I need.

Superb modelling on the things you've done.

I have a total of four bogies in 4mm scale, which I purchased as packaged Bachman items.

That's why I went to Bachmann for info.

Thanks for the info.

Hi.

I think I have solved my problem.

Rmweb member "Simon br blue" came up trumps.  He took my problem onboard and has uploaded drawings to Shapeways.

These bogies can be ordered from Shapeways in 7mm scale ; job done ; I've got a couple of bogies on order.

I have to take my hat off to Simon br blue ; some of the work he produces is absolutely fabulous ; I would recommend anyone to

have a look at some of the content he has put on Rmweb.

I will put some photos on here when I get the bogies.

Many thanks to simon br blue, and everyone who tried to help.

What wagon is it required for. I have numerous plans and information.

The cast Y25 with 8 clasp brakes is the Y25C

The Seacow is not fitted with a Y25 bogie. I will check and advise what the correct designation is.

The BR 100 tonne steel carriers are also not fitted with Y25 bogie. These are fitted with FBT6 bogies, a designed based on the Y25.

This is a Y25Cs2 Bogie.

920 wheels and 22.5 tonne axle load suspension. Note the 'hand' of the spring winding. The 20 tonne axle load wind the other way. This bogie had single TMD composite brake blocks. The wagon a TIPH 90 tonne Scrap Box. The bogie and brakework came from Clyde Cement Tanks.
