letterspider
This is meant to be modelling for enjoyment - so it may not be up to exhibition standards...
letterspider
Second and third pass paint and sanding down - still a bit rough. Not sure if I can be bothered with the route indicator box.. Edited January 31, 2018 by letterspider
letterspider
Making a start on the cab windows while the paint dries on the cab front. The Replica MLV cab end is a great kit as you can buy glazing and MU jumpers separately. I had two left over glazing kits - which would be necessary - as it appears both windows are the same size. letterspider
Was able to work on the front last night - added some handrails and test fitted the glazing. Masked up and painted the sides. I reckon with careful masking and thin, multiple layers, I would get satisfactory results using spray cans from Halfords. Front is Vauxhall Mustard yellow, sides FIAT Red / Orange (this works best on black primer) Transfers have been ordered from Railtec Edited February 1, 2018 by letterspider
letterspider
Some more progress found one of those twisty things they used to use to tie off loaves of bread engineer and second man - the cab is from Replica Railways From these close up shots it looks like a bit of tidying up needs to be done on the cab paintwork - guess I will have to sand it down or use a thick gloss to get it perfect or use an airbrush...
