RMweb Gold rodent279 Posted May 31, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 31, 2018 (edited) The old Triang/Hornby power bogie, as used in the Blue Pullman, DMU, AL1 etc. Is the metal retaining clip and felt pad that secures the armature in place still available? Peter's Spares don't list them (not as far as I can see). Edited May 31, 2018 by rodent279

hallmodelspares
Bearings are really important assemble with 1 each end with the motor inbetween in the brass inserts. It will not run without them and make sure the magnet is strong too.
DCB
Those ball bearings improve the Hornby A3 chassis if you put a S1504 bearing and a brass shim between armature and magnet on the XO4. Doesn't help with the other XO4s but the A3 chassis runs backwards compared to the rest. The A1A A1A and CoCo bogie never runs as nicely as the Bo Bo because they don't have the ball bearings to control end float. The Bo Bo armatures also fit the K's Mk 1 motors!
