Novco007
Hi All, I received a couple of weeks back a new class 800 which hattons fitted sound in both locos. I have an issue where some of the sound do not work, for instance the horns are meant to function on the lead loco, but this only works on the dummy car. I was told to check CV29, which I can read on the motor car, it says 15, I can not read the dummy. If I change to motor car to CV14, and turn the lights on so I can confirm direction, the horns only work when the direction is reversed, red lights shown, the dummy car seems to work fine. I have also managed to have a situation when I have both locos horns playing at the same time. Any ideas? Cheers Chris
Talltim
Aren’t the motor cars on 800s some of the intermediate vehicles so wouldn’t have horns?

RAF96
It has been suggested in other forums that Hattons maybe shouldn’t be your first choice for the complex fitting of sound to a (very expensive) loco. Edit - My advice would be to use a specialist for specialist tasks. Rob Edited November 18, 2018 by RAFHAAA96

The 'Matched Pair' if set up properly should work correctly. IE Horns on the leading car. Ring Olivia Trains whose sounds they are. IF you catch them in a good mood they might be helpfull. If not Try DC Kits (www.dckits-devideos.co.uk) Probably more helpfull. Charlie Edited November 19, 2018 by charliepetty

Charlie Agreed Charlie but some folk can make a pigs ear of things even with an itemised step-by-step guide, hence my - go to a specialist rather than a general dealer. AMJ
Try Change CV 29 on both, BUT I'd do only one end at a time.
Novco007
Try Change CV 29 on both, BUT I'd do only one end at a time. The motor car has cv29=15 as default, if I change this to 14, the lights and running direction is wrong. I have no idea what the dummy car is, but if I change that then either it has the same lights on, based on direction as the motor car, or it stops playing the directional sounds. Novco007
Hi All, So I have had my Class 800 reblown by Charlie at DCkits, with a Legomanbiffo sound file. The original sound from Olivia's was also very good, it is just a shame that Hattons, failed to get the two chips encoded correctly. Anyway, I got the re-blown units back this week and filmed a successful first power on, the lights and sound work correctly. We noticed that the original Olivias sounds had the Diesel Mode on tickover without any rev's. This is not quite what the IEP's actually do!!!!
