Allegheny1600
Hello All, I recently discovered a truly remarkable French outline layout called Luzy built by a French chap called Renaud Yver. https://www.youtube.com/user/RENAUDYVER/videos?disable_polymer=1 I've linked to his channel page as he shows quite a few 'show you how' as well as layout videos. You may or may not like his narration but the layout is truly special, imho. Cheers, John.

Pacific231G
Hello All, I recently discovered a truly remarkable French outline layout called Luzy built by a French chap called Renaud Yver. https://www.youtube.com/user/RENAUDYVER/videos?disable_polymer=1 I've linked to his channel page as he shows quite a few 'show you how' as well as layout videos. You may or may not like his narration but the layout is truly special, imho. Cheers, John. Thanks for this John. Luzy is a fantastic layout that I'd also not noticed before. I've now discovered that for the past six years Renaud Yver has had a long running topic about his layout on the L-R forum (similar format to RMWeb) starting here http://forum.e-train.fr/viewtopic.php?t=57674 As of today It's on its 591st page! The MPD featured as a layout article in Loco Revue 788 in March 2013 along with an article by him on automating a layout using DCC. I've found one other article by him on using multilevels (to get far more layout in the same room) in June 2013 (791) That include a very rough sketch of the layout as blocks but not a detailed track plan. It's basically a coulisse ("backstage" hidden sidings) -double track main line station-coulisse with a single track branch line and the MPD occupies one end of the layout. There may well be other articles about or relating to Luzy, which I'll now look for, but it doesn't yet seem to have been the subject of a complete layout feature. There are some other really inspiring French layouts with topics on the L-R Forum. Smaller (3.85m x 2.85m) but with some fantastic cityscapes is Jacques Boiliau's Chinon St. Jacques http://forum.e-train.fr/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=74784&hilit=Chinon+St.Jacques#p1534519 Video (accompanied by Edith Piaf) here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBpgAPGbxs0 Edited December 17, 2018 by Pacific231G
RMweb Gold Barry Ten Posted December 31, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 31, 2018 There's also an LR special issue on the layout: https://trains.lrpresse.com/A-17244-hslr50-08-2016-reseauxscopie-luzy-gare-de-bifurcation.aspx
