There is a large and well spread "Northumberland and Borders EM Group", which contains modellers working in 2mm(finescale), 4mm (OO, EM, P4), 7mm and probably other scales, meets in a variety of locations, and runs the very good event in Stannington (near Morpeth) every October.

There is a Borders group of MERG which meets in Hawick.  There is a model railway club in Hawick.
Kelso Mens Shed has plans for a model railway group (the shed only got its premises in the spring, so its only just starting activities).

And there will be other groups around.

Still a bit far away for me, I'm afraid (I live just outside Berwick upon Tweed).
