Fel1xp
In need of a new front buffer for my Hornby Britannia... Can't find any suitable replacement on the usual ebay, peters spares, google etc. Has anyone got a spare one / know where to source one or replace it with something similar? Even knowing the part number would help. Cheers
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted November 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 7, 2019 If you are not wedded to sprung buffers Lanarkshire models replacements are excellent http://www.lanarkshiremodels.com/lanarkshiremodelsandsupplieswebsite_125.htm No connection other than satisfied customer
Amand
Would Hornby X6206 do? Sprung & ready painted hopefully in the same shade as the buffer beam. If you remove the intact one then you'd have a matching pair. I've bought a few to rescue damaged locos. https://www.petersspares.com/Hornby-x6206-class-2800-3800-sprung-loco-buffers-pk2.ir No connection etc.... RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted November 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 7, 2019 Does depend how pernickety the OP wants to be - those do lack the step on top of the housing but I bet they would pass the 1 foot viewing rule
Fel1xp
Agreed - I’ll try the Hornby spare and if they don’t work I’ll buy the cast ones. Thanks!
