petejones
Looking for ideas on how to cover, or at least obscure, the inevitable "exit" hole on a backscene (perhaps that should be side-scene!). I know the obvious ones: tunnel, bridge, flyover, factory entrance, big tree... Any others?
rodshaw
How about a factory building in the foreground, like this one on the right? It completely hides the hole in the side panel which leads to the fiddle yard. The building is only lightly fixed down so I can remove it for maintenance of the track and turnout behind.
PatB
Or you could go 80s retro with a scenic fiddle yard, thus doing away with the need for a border entirely.
RMweb Premium Reorte Posted February 26, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 26, 2020 No idea if this will work or not (if it does it'll depend upon the layout) but how about a mirror with a hole for the trains, to reflect back at some of the scenic section? It'll look odd when a train's going through or near but should help give an impression of depth the rest of the time.
