I have 2 DJM J94's one is fitted with a Hatton's 6 pin DCC Decoder and runs with no problems, the other has had a Bachmann, then Hatton's and finally a Gaugemaster , it did not matter which decoder was fitted when not selected the loco would suddenly race off,  then stop then randomly start and stop, when the loco was selected, it would start OK then randomly speed up, slow down, stop, reverse direction, this happened with both a Hornby Elite and an ECoS controller, I converted the loco back to DC and now runs with no problems, the Decoders were tested on a Decoder Tester and all ran faultlessly, the loco has been relegated to a DC shunting layout and replaced on the DCC layout by a Hornby J94.

I have never had any of these problems with any other loco's, it may be an isolated case/incident.
