RMweb Gold Royal42 Posted March 19, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 19, 2021 I have a Lone Star loco' which I believe is an Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T model, for a static layout, but only the main wheels turn. Are there any items available for improving these models by having all wheels turning? I don't mean electrifying them for running, just the wheels modified so all can turn. cheers, Mike
crackedmember
I think this model is one of the ex LMS 3MT, not the 2MT. I have seen one of these motorized by Mike Shakespare with one of the farish chassis's.
BernardTPM
Its the BR 3MT, though strictly speaking a half-size Tri-ang interpretation of a BR 3MT. All the Lone Star pushalong locos were half-size Tri-ang apart from the A4 which was half-size Hornby Dublo. If you want to make them runnable (albeit unpowered) the best option would be to discard the Lone Star chassis section. You might find suitable wheels on the BR Lines website.
