TTS Decoder Identity

I have just fitted a TTS decoder to my Hornby Merchant Navy and it works well. Just one odd occurrence though - when I read the CVs in Railmaster, CV 8 came up with "PSI Dynatrol". What on earth is that? I re-read CV8 and it came up with Hornby Hobbies which was what I was expecting the first time.

Nothing wrong here but I am just curious.

Thanks for that - an interesting read. I still wonder why a TTS decoder should masquerade as a Dynatrol.

It didn't.   Something somewhere mis-read stuff, either the decoder didn't respond to a bit request, or the system failed to detect it properly the first time around.   Then the system looked up the number it "heard" and came to the "right" answer for the "wrong" number.

RM is notorious for misidentifying a decoder as something else. If you know what is then force Cv7 and pick the correct one from the drop down list.
