ricboo Posted January 23, 2011 Share Posted January 23, 2011 Just wanted to keep all informed of the progress of the new Modern Image Group in Scunthorpe. Since starting in Mid December 2010 we have 9 members joined and have made lightning progress upto now 23rd Jan. We have furnished the Groups Hut fully, We have built 3 based boards and we are starting the fiddle yard board this week We have built 5 sets of adjustable legs We have decided on a track plan which is just being drawn up 18ft x 2ft (inc fiddle yard) and we have planned a 1 day exhibtion in May with layouts and traders booked. Not bad going in short space of time, We still have vacancies for 2 more members, we meet on a Monday and Thursday near Scunthorpe Town Centre, and we have members travelling from Grimsby, Epworth and Doncaster so it may be possible to share lifts and more importantly its a great bunch of people who are already members to enjoy railway modelling. Hi James, just with reference to the above, its purely becuase of the size of the room we have, we can fit 10 people into the area we have, and we wanted to manage peoples aspirations and didnt want to have a massive influx of people that we would be letting down. We have managed to get 8 members so far, but really only have the space for another 2.
