I should be saving and buying sound chips, for some reason I bought my tenth Class 37 and second Civil Engineers Dutch. I just can't seem the resit when a Canton Loco comes up for sale. 37046 joins 37035. The split headcode machine has already made silent runs with coaching stock. Another one to add to the list of "sound to get" Must be a Bank holiday with three Engineer locos on shed. Always nice to buy another 37 and Dutch one too

bridgiesimon
Great looking updates, I enjoy reading your thread. Just a quick note about the Warrior APCs you are doing, they will need to sit on cradles on the warwell wagons. They were too wide to sit on the wagon and needed to be lifted up above platform height. No idea if anyone does a cradle kit in OO, I model in N gauge and plan on a rake of Warwells with Warriors at some stage. A good piccie near the top of this page - https://pgmodels.wordpress.com/2010/03/13/a-few-more-details/ Best wishes Simon
Leon
Good morning Simon, Thanks for the message, yes Ive been told about the cradles and you can purchase brass kits for 00, Im not used to brass so I will more than likely try to knock something up from plastic, hopefully the other three will be arriving today as showing despatched. I would have liked a longer train but fiddle yard restraints. I wanted Scimtars but really hard to find. Edited June 19, 2020 by Leon
bridgiesimon
One advantage I have modelling in N gauge lol, I will be doing a long rake of them, my earlier era military goods is 11 wagons long loaded with Ferrets, Saladins and Saracens. By the way, assuming it is still available, Airfix do/have done a kit in 1:76 for the Scorpion/Scimitar. as far as I am aware it includes parts to do either version. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/airfix-01320-scorpion-scimitar-tank--181525 Best wishes Simon

Leon
Well most of the layout has been removed, I managed to save a lot of track work which is a bonus. Edited September 8, 2020 by Leon
Leon
Saved a lot of track which will keep the cost down on the new build. We have to be out of the house by the 30th this month and i'm looking forward to having a new train room.
Leon
Fiddle yards have been removed.
Leon
Im thinking of a much simpler layout in the new house, to save time and costs, also on my own it will be easier to operate. Im thinking just a double track mainline with a freight loop to add a bit of interest. Although its always nice to have a TMD or servicing point.

Leon
Been in the new house a month now, building the framework in the garage then it will be taken up to the new train room. The frames will be 2.4m each by 800mm. There will be three in total, two running along the one wall, then the third at 90 degree along the other wall, this will be the fiddle yard. Im not having end to end as most of the layout would be fiddle yards leaving only a few metres for a layout scenic section. Ordering the ply next week and something to use as legs.
