Chrislock
Hi. I have scratchbuilt a Wengenalpbahn He2/2. Does anyone know a good Halford aerosol match for WAB green Long shot I know as WAB not often modelled. Cheers Chris
RMweb Premium DIW Posted November 14, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 14, 2012 Hi Chris, Are you modelling in 2mm? If so, you'll hate this (unless you already know about it): http://www.n-schmalspur.de/spb-bau1.pdf The instructions for painting (section 5) refer the reader to the main website for colour information - I'm particularly thinking of the reference to He 2/2 nos. 61, 62 and 63 which were lent to the SPB. I can't remember if they are still green or red. http://www.n-schmalspur.de/ I had a quick look at the website but haven't spotted the section on paint colours yet - if we can get a colour name then a match can be found (usually). I have even managed to track down a UK source of SBB green in aerosol (not the nearly equivalent RAL version either!) I'll look at the website in more detail when I get home. There's some Om stuff on there too. Cheers, Dave
RMweb Premium DIW Posted November 15, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 15, 2012 Hi Chris, I've found this thread about a WAB He2/2 (and other stuff) on 32mm gauge. The photos of the green He2/2 show shade changes with differing lighting similar to those I experienced when taking the pictures towards the end of this thread. Since the Ae3/5 is painted in SBB green, I would offer that as a place to start. SBB green is NCS 8010-B90G, and I found that it is available from http://www.paints4u.com/. If you head for the RAL/BS section and click on aerosols, the NCS standard can be found in the drop-down headed '2 Select Colour Standard'. Hope this helps, Dave
