juggy0_1
I've seen the O gauge Mallard kit advertised on TV , has anyone bought the first instalment or had chance to have a look at the kit, i was wondering if its worth getting, or if anyone thinks it might build into a decent kit ?. Guest 838rapid
It will cost you over a grand to buy in instalments, also the down side is if you miss an instalment. It's an expensive way to buy a brass kit. Not my idea of fun, would rather buy a known kit as you stand more chance of getting spares if required. Bernard Lamb
See the A3 from a few years ago. I presume this will have similar parentage. As stated a very expensive way of getting a model. Bernard
RMweb Gold ROSSPOP Posted August 31, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 31, 2014 Hi I've taken out a subscription, having researched peoples efforts and experiences on the A3. A better way of slowly spending out on a kit than forking out best part of a grand on a kit all in one go. To make a working model needs experience in any guage. You will need to purchase a quality motor as the motor offered by Hatchette is unlikely to be up to the mark. The streamlined body parts will be plastic but don't be put off by that.It would ap pear that subscribers fare better with Hatchette for support and replacement parts. JeffP
It probably won't end up as detailed as, say, a Finney, or Piercey model, but will undoubtedly be easier to build.
