RMweb Premium Steve Purves Posted November 12, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 12, 2014 For a Change… I fancied a little weekend project and had a handy 16ins by 14ins braced baseboard. I thought about a working railway but it would be very compromised I think in the space so opted for a diorama. I had a couple of lengths of concrete sleepered code 55 and an offcut of wooden sleepered code 80. I will let the photo’s tell the story best I think. Now complete I am offering this little Diorama for sale. RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted November 12, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 12, 2014 Nice work Steve - I think I've seen that board before . . . . . . . . . ! ! Steve bought it from our second hand stall at the October show and it just goes to show what can be done in a small space - especially when using N Gauge. The board was originally built for a OO9 Pizza style layout by a fellow club member who changed his mind . . . . hope it now goes to a good home - as you have shown, it's ideal for static photographic displays. RMweb Premium Steve Purves Posted November 12, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 12, 2014 Thanks Guys, I must admit it turned out better than I had hoped for considering its a 'quickie' Edit: it looks even better now the white glue has dried clear! RMweb Premium Steve Purves Posted November 12, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 12, 2014 Its amazing to think its only 16" by 14" by a couple of the pictures... The joys of N Gauge! (although I will be moving to the dark side for a future 4mm project)

switcher 1
(although I will be moving to the dark side for a future 4mm project) Interesting - why are you going to model American Railroads in 4mm/ft?
RMweb Premium Steve Purves Posted November 13, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 13, 2014 Interesting - why are you going to model American Railroads in 4mm/ft? Not quite that Dark! More red.. Thanks to a couple of threads on here I have been making eyes at a Dutch 31 and an NSE 33 in 00 gauge, Wondering how I can fit a believable 3rd rail layout into 3' x 15"
ginger j
Before the static grass was applied I was looking at the photograph with the Regional(?) coaches and was thinking......"hmm, peak district moors in winter." But the diorama looks very nice as it is now. You just need to find somewhere to photograph it using forced perspective a la Sandhills of this forum and job's a good 'un........ Steam_Julie
I was thinking of a ride on garden railway, using N gauge Locos with 7mm driver & passengers. Perhaps some half relief building along two side, the house and garage.Julie
