Yes I know, not much notice. Seems fair enough to me in that short notice means that there is less chance of change!
This is the fifth year of the Basingstoke Club "Open Day" when visitors can see all of the club layouts - those which are "complete" and those which are "work in progress" - together with one or two layouts from Club members. As in previous years the number of layouts on display is more than can be accommodated in the club hut so the Open Day spreads to the adjacent Scout Hut.
Admission is free, light refreshments are available.
Post code is RG22 5HN, this is within Stratton Park where there is ample free parking.

0Twickenham & District MRC are re-launching their annual G Gauge Event on August 2nd. The club has always had a strong G gauge following and at the moment we have seven dedicated G gaugers and we're looking to attract a few more.
The Event will run in our clubrooms from 1pm to 5pm and will feature our G gauge layout RIVER STREET GAS WORKS, plus our G gauge circular test tracks PLUS we will be setting up three G gauge tracks in the field alongside our clubrooms for LIVE STEAM RUNNING!!!
Anyone reading this is welcome to come along and bring stock to run. There is no charge for the G gauge event, but there will be a BBQ available on the day which we will need to charge for if you want to partake.
PLEASE send me a PM if you wish to take advantage of the BBQ as we want to make sure that we have enough food on site to cope with demand.

There will be a large selection of preowned Model Railway items including locomotives, rolling stock and accessories, mainly OO gauge.
No charge for admission.

Quibbles: I know you have to rent the floorspace by the square metere, but it got a bit crowded at times between stalls/layouts.
Positives: Lots of good trade support, some superb layouts, and very helpful friendly staff.
Warley was always going to be a hard act to follow, and the organisers did well.
I can see this growing in the future
