Model railway buffs should be getting ready for Europe's largest model railway event, EUROSPOOR, which takes place this year in the Jaarbeurs (trade fair centre) in Utrecht, the Netherlands on 29, 30 and 31 October 2010. A surface area of 23,000 square meters will offer visitors the chance to view over 50 model railways belonging to clubs from the Netherlands as well as other countries, extensive model train collections, model-making demonstrations, stands of representatives and retailers, a model railway market of 1000 meter length where train-lovers offer their used trains, accesories and collectors' items for sale or exchange.
In short: If you have an afinity for trains you mustn't miss Eurospoor!

Huddersfield Railway Modellers exhibitionThe clubs annual exhibition, as usual in the Civic Hall, Holmfirth, about 6 miles south of Huddersfield. There will be a free bus (probably a London Routemaster) travelling between the venue and Huddersfield station on both days. See the club website for more details, www.huddsrailwaymodellers.co.uk
Alan Whitehouse, the BBC Look North Transport correspondent will be at the show from 10:00 am till 2:00 pm. on the Saturday signing copies of his new book, An illustrated history of the Woodhead Route'. Alan is a modeller in 2mm finescale and has a superb little layout called Mini MSW which attended our show last year.

Hazel Grove & District MRS ExhibitionThe 44th Annual Exhibition will be held at Hazel Grove Recreation Centre, which is located within the grounds of Hazel Grove High School on Jacksons Lane, Hazel Grove, SK7 5JX.

Basingstoke & North Hants MRS Open Day, Sunday, 6th September 2026
I spent an enjoyable afternoon at this event today. The club members were welcoming and the set up is very good.
Pete's Royal Albert Bridge layout in N with a Peak crossing from the Cornish side with a parcels working.
Ian's 2mm FS dockside layout featuring working road vehicles and a narrow gauge factory line

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.
