We are pleased to advise you that we have our usual excellent selection of layouts, for your enjoyment, as well as a select group of traders. Our catering arrangements will be up to their usual standard and we have our usual free bus service operating from High Wycombe station. So if you would like to sample the new Chiltern Mainline service as well as a vintage Routemaster, then public transport is the only way for you to get to the show! The East Ham and District Model Railway Club will be holding their 2011 exhibition the weekend of 5th & 6th November 2011. At the CEME Campus, Marsh Way, Rainham, Essex. RM13 8EU. (10am -5pm, Saturday. 10am - 4pm, Sunday).
This is the third in the series of finescale model railway exhibitions presented by the East Ham and District Model Railway Club; and this is the second one to be put on at the CEME centre. The previous two exhibitions have been well received by all that attended, to see independent reviews of both the previous East London Finescale Exhibitions on RMweb, see
2009 or 2010.
This years exhibition includes two of the most popular and outstanding examples of railway modelling at its absolute best, East Lynn and Nunstanton in S scale and Copenhagen Fields in 2mm; this is not to detract from any of the other superb layouts most of which have been featured in the model railway press.

Public transport to the venue is only available on the Saturday, the 174 Bus which passes Romford and Dagenham Heathway stations, terminates at CEME; but there are no direct public transport links to the venue on the Sunday, although buses do pass within ½ mile of the venue on the A1306

Leave the A13 at the second Dagenham East/Hornchurch exit. Turn right at the first roundabout and proceed to the second roundabout. At the second roundabout take the road marked ‘Marsh Way’.

Leave the A13 at the first Dagenham East/Hornchurch exit. Take the first exit marked ‘Marsh Way’.
Once in Marsh Way
CEME is the first turning on the left. Drive up to the barrier which will automatically lift, follow the signs to East Car Park.

Organised by, and all proceeds to, the Middleton Railway Trust
Open 10:00 to 16:00 each day (steam passenger trains operating regularly between 10:30 and 15:30 from Moor Road station), light refreshments available in the shop/café. Free parking on site or nearby streets.
Admire the models set amongst the real thing in our Engine House. You can also travel on a full-size steam train. There is also the opportunity to drive a full-size locomotive, as we will be operating a footplate experience on one of our locomotives – when did you last do that at a Model Railway Exhibition? A suggested donation of £5 and no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old and not older than 76 to take part in the footplate experience.
Except for the footplate experience all areas of the exhibition and the train ride are accessible to visitors with disabilities.
Admission – which covers Exhibition plus unlimited train rides:

We are expecting up to 16 layouts in a variety of scales: OO, 0.165mm and 009 at least. Layouts will include: Stanley Ferry (OO), Leeds Trams (OO), Queensbury Depot (O), Bryn Oriog (009), Bishopgate (O) and Oakdale (OO), Bishopgate (O), Outwell Village (OO), Arfer Yard (0.165mm NG) and Whitborough Quayside (16.5mm)
Traders will include: Going Loco, Helm Models & Hobbies, Batterdale Scenics & Electronics and Leigh Models & Hobbies
Reminding us that model railways are fun too we also have Lego, vintage Tri-ang and Tri-ang Hornby operating.
This is an event for all the family – not just the modeller. When the non-modellers have exhausted the facilities, we offer at Moor Road we have Middleton Woods and Park at the top of the line, the Tulip Retail Park is opposite, and the White Rose Shopping Centre is just a short distance away. We pride ourselves on a welcome for all – come and experience it for yourselves.

0In support of the Risborough Festival on Saturday 11th July 2026, the Risborough & District Model Railway Club will be holding an Open Day at the Princes Risborough St. Mary's Hall (Church Street) from 10:00 to 16:30. We plan to part exhibit our new O gauge layout project, as well as our Test Track for members of the public to test their rolling stock on. There will be second hand sales, refreshments and some modelling displays. Admission is FREE.

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026

Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026

Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.

WMRA Annual Exhibition

Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
