    LYDCC are organising a small family model rail show in Bacup as part of the 'Pride in Bacup' activities in the are the current details are:-

    The new Beyer Garratt will be previewed at this show by special arrangement with Hatton's

    This years model railway exhibition is being held at the National Brewery Centre.
    Up to 12 layouts, demonstration stands and a full complement of traders.
    Plenty of free parking, refreshments and bar available.
    The midland classic Routemaster bus will be running trips around the town.
    Bass loco, directors coach and Planet loco will be on view.
    The entrance fee for the model railway exhibition will also include full access to the museum site. There is a unique collection of Bass artefacts, the Robey steam engine, vintage brewing industry vehicles and a model of the unique rail network that once existed in Burton upon Trent.
    Burton Railway society members, along with museum staff have spent the summer months cosmetically restoring and preserving the Bass No 9 loco, the Directors coach and the Planet loco. All will be on display to visitors.

      Cupar Model Rail 2025 is scheduled for the 19th and 20th of July at The Corn Exchange in Cupar, Fife.
       
      This annual exhibition, organised by the Cupar & District Model Railway Club, has become a must-visit event in East Scotland for railway enthusiasts. The show will feature over 15 model railway layouts across various scales, quality trade stands, modelling demonstrations, and a cafe.
      Each adult admission includes a free colour show guide (while stocks last), and accompanied children (ages 0-15) can attend for free, making it an ideal family outing.
       
      The exhibition runs from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on both days.
      The venue is fully accessible, with both free and paid parking options available nearby, and is within comfortable walking distance from the Cupar railway station and the town has excellent bus connections.

         Good little show. Bit biased though as I’m exhibiting at the show and have done so for a couple of years now.
       
    • Gauge O Guild Winter Show

    • The National Festival of Railway Modelling @ NEC

         Considering this is the first show by BRM I thought they did a reall good job. 
      Quibbles: I know you have to rent the floorspace by the square metere, but it got a bit crowded at times between stalls/layouts. 
      Positives: Lots of good trade support, some superb layouts, and very helpful friendly staff.
      Warley was always going to be a hard act to follow, and the organisers did well. 
      I can see this growing in the future 
    • Tyneside Model Railway Exhibition

         Drove down from Lanark early on Saturday morning (6 hour round trip!) to arrive shortly after 10am.  The first surprise was seeing my cousin showing his O gauge layout in the foyer (shown as east Glasson port authority on the programme but it wasn't that). Nice to have a chat with him as we've not met for a couple of years. Moving on to the main halls, there seemed to be plenty of space for viewing, helped no doubt by my being there so early. I'd driven down especially to see Grantham, Pelaw and Fencehouses having seen them in the mags and I wasn't disappointed so spent at least an hour swapping between the three. All three layouts exceeded expectations but it was also great to see Richmond in the flesh, it having only just appeared in print last month. I saw Alston in Glasgow in February and there's been no drop in quality. However,  my favourite (and I'm probably biased as I'm modelling the s&c) was Kirtley Bridge - what a superb layout, the quality of modelling and the atmosphere was outstanding. I think I spent around 3 hours at the show and was absolutely wrecked by the time I got home but it was well worth it. I'll be watching out for next year's dates to make sure they're kept clear.
