    Please see http://www.midessexm.../exhib.html#top for further details on layouts, traders etc attending our Annual Model Railway Exhibition. Over 20 layouts booked to appear, from as far a field as Hull, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Stoke on Trent and Gloucestershire. We intend as normal to operate a free bus service to and from Shenfield railway station. This year we have an added extra - a celebration of 150 years of the Great Eastern Railway, in association with the Great Eastern Railway Society. The Club is a Member of the Chiltern Model Railway Association.

    One week to go before our 35th anuual model railway exhibition. PLEASE NOTE: Network Rail are conducting works which does mean that a rail replacement (bus) service will be in operation - trains will still call at Shenfield from London. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/currentAndFuture.html?nojs=true&action=true&txtTravelDate=15%2F09%2F2012&toc= We still intend to run a heritage shuttle bus service to & from Shenfield railway station and the exhibition venue. There is some parking available at the venue and in the surrounding area.

    Huddersfield Railway Modellers 4mm Fine Scale Group are building a new layout based on Dewsbury Wellington Road. The layout will be a continuous run approx 24ft x 10ft built to fine scale exhibition standards. All trackwork in the scenic area will be SMP code 75, 16.5mm gauge with hand built point work. Some base boards and building have already been built but we have a long way to go, and would love to hear from any one interested in getting involved, experienced or new modellers equally welcome.
     
    Our present layout, Hebden Bridge has been well received at numerous exhibitions around the country and is booked to appear at Bradford, Wharley and Doncaster next year.

    The 45th Anniversary Redditch Model Railway Exhibition presented by the Redditch Model Railway Club will once again be held at the Trinity High School which is off Access 1 on the Town Centre Ring Road and is a 10 minute walk from the town's Bus and Rail Stations (Redditch is at the end of the Cross City Rail Line with a half hourly 40 minute journey from Birmingham New Street Station on BOTH Saturday and Sunday) Venue is only 15 minutes from junction 2 on the M42 by car
     
    Fifteen layouts in scales N to O including Arrowmouth (celebrating 20 years on the exhibition circit) around the same number of trade stands, model railway demonstration stands and refreshments. FREE on site parking

    Annual Exhibition 2012
     
    This year’s Worthing MRC Exhibition will be held over the weekend of Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th September 2012.
    Building on the continued success of our last three shows, the exhibition will showcase a wide variety of model railway layouts, traders and society stands. Light refreshments will be available throughout the show. There is ample free parking, with excellent access for all visitors.
    The venue is Durrington High School, The Boulevard, Worthing, West Sussex, BN13 1JX.
    Opening Hours:
    Saturday 10th September 10.00am – 16.30pm
    Sunday 11th September 10.00am – 16.00pm
    Ticket prices held at last year’s prices: Children £2.00 each Adults £4.00 each Family (2 + 2) £11.00

    Erith Model Railway Society, in association with Kent Garden Railways, David Wills, Layouts4U and Woodpecker Books will be holding its annual Bexleyheath model railway exhibition Saturday 15th (10:00am to 5:00pm) and Sunday 16th September 2012 (10:00am to 4:30pm). The show will be held at its usual location of Huxtable & Scout Halls, St Martin’s Church, Erith Road, Bexleyheath, Kent DA7 6LE Entry prices are £3.50 for adults, £3.00 for Concessions, £2.00 for 5-16 yr. olds (under 5’s free) and £8.00 for a family ticket. Up to 15 highly detailed working model railway layouts will be in attendance together with extensive sales support and reasonably priced hot and cold refreshments.

      Organised by, and all proceeds to, the Middleton Railway Trust
       
      Open 10:00 to 16:00 each day (steam passenger trains operating regularly between 10:30 and 15:30 from Moor Road station), light refreshments available in the shop/café. Free parking on site or nearby streets.
       
      Admire the models set amongst the real thing in our Engine House. You can also travel on a full-size steam train. There is also the opportunity to drive a full-size locomotive, as we will be operating a footplate experience on one of our locomotives – when did you last do that at a Model Railway Exhibition? A suggested donation of £5 and no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old and not older than 76 to take part in the footplate experience.
       
      Except for the footplate experience all areas of the exhibition and the train ride are accessible to visitors with disabilities.
       
      Admission – which covers Exhibition plus unlimited train rides:
      Adult: £9
      Child: £4
       
      We are expecting up to 16 layouts in a variety of scales: OO, 0.165mm and 009 at least. Layouts will include: Stanley Ferry (OO), Leeds Trams (OO), Queensbury Depot (O), Bryn Oriog (009), Bishopgate (O) and Oakdale (OO), Bishopgate (O), Outwell Village (OO), Arfer Yard (0.165mm NG) and Whitborough Quayside (16.5mm)
       
      Traders will include: Going Loco, Helm Models & Hobbies, Batterdale Scenics & Electronics and Leigh Models & Hobbies
       
      Reminding us that model railways are fun too we also have Lego, vintage Tri-ang and Tri-ang Hornby operating.
       
      This is an event for all the family – not just the modeller. When the non-modellers have exhausted the facilities, we offer at Moor Road we have Middleton Woods and Park at the top of the line, the Tulip Retail Park is opposite, and the White Rose Shopping Centre is just a short distance away. We pride ourselves on a welcome for all – come and experience it for yourselves.

      Alongside up to 10 layouts in various gauges there will be trade support, bookstall, tombola, access to a Deltic cab, chance to photo one of the DPS Deltics, railwayana display, view the roundhouse and its displays, train ride on the Springwell branch

      In support of the Risborough Festival on Saturday 11th July 2026, the Risborough & District Model Railway Club will be holding an Open Day at the Princes Risborough St. Mary's Hall (Church Street) from 10:00 to 16:30. We plan to part exhibit our new O gauge layout project, as well as our Test Track for members of the public to test their rolling stock on. There will be second hand sales, refreshments and some modelling displays. Admission is FREE.

         Great mix of layouts and trade,
       
      ....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking......       why oh why!
       
      The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

    • SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026

         Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
      1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
      2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
      3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
      4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
       
      I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.
       
       




    • WMRA Annual Exhibition

         Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
