    The 2016 Uckfield Model Railway Exhibition will once again be featuring a selection of some of the best quality layouts around. There will be full trade support as well as Demonstration & Engineering stands. Licensed Restaurant within the Civic Centre will be open throughout the weekend. Children 5-14 admitted free with fee paying adult/senior. Under 5s free.
     
    14 Layouts in 7mm/ft scale (0, 0-16.5), 1:64 scale (S), 4mm/ft scale (P4, EM, 00, 00-12, 00-9), 3.5mm/ft scale (H0), 3mm/ft finescale, 1:148 scale (British N) and 2mm/ft finescale. Portraying standard and narrow gauge British, American and Continental prototypes.

    This is a day where the club has the Carrington room and the club room in the community Centre in Princes Risborough open to the public. Demonstrations and displays of club projects will cover baseboard construction, track laying, scenery, electrics, layout research, kit-building, detailing and weathering in a variety of scales from N through 00, 4mm finescale to 7mm.

    Only disabled car parking places are available at the Community Centre, therefore all other visitors are required to park in the Mount Carpark in Stratton Road (Follow brown Leisure Centre signs to just past St. Mary's Church). Please note that this is pay and display. Half hourly bus service from Aylesbury or High Wycombe to Princes Risborough Town Centre, then 5min walk to Community Centre. 15 minute walk from Chiltern Railway station with regular trains from Birmingham, Banbury, Aylesbury or London Marylebone, 25 minutes drive from M40 Junction 6 via B4009.

         Good little show. Bit biased though as I’m exhibiting at the show and have done so for a couple of years now.

    • The National Festival of Railway Modelling @ NEC

         Considering this is the first show by BRM I thought they did a reall good job. 
      Quibbles: I know you have to rent the floorspace by the square metere, but it got a bit crowded at times between stalls/layouts. 
      Positives: Lots of good trade support, some superb layouts, and very helpful friendly staff.
      Warley was always going to be a hard act to follow, and the organisers did well. 
      I can see this growing in the future 
    • Tyneside Model Railway Exhibition

         Drove down from Lanark early on Saturday morning (6 hour round trip!) to arrive shortly after 10am.  The first surprise was seeing my cousin showing his O gauge layout in the foyer (shown as east Glasson port authority on the programme but it wasn't that). Nice to have a chat with him as we've not met for a couple of years. Moving on to the main halls, there seemed to be plenty of space for viewing, helped no doubt by my being there so early. I'd driven down especially to see Grantham, Pelaw and Fencehouses having seen them in the mags and I wasn't disappointed so spent at least an hour swapping between the three. All three layouts exceeded expectations but it was also great to see Richmond in the flesh, it having only just appeared in print last month. I saw Alston in Glasgow in February and there's been no drop in quality. However,  my favourite (and I'm probably biased as I'm modelling the s&c) was Kirtley Bridge - what a superb layout, the quality of modelling and the atmosphere was outstanding. I think I spent around 3 hours at the show and was absolutely wrecked by the time I got home but it was well worth it. I'll be watching out for next year's dates to make sure they're kept clear.
