    The 20th Annual Charity Wilmington Model Railway Exhibition will take place on the second full weekend of October at St. Michael's Church & Church Hall.
     
    The Erith Model Railway Society will continue to provide material assistance to this show, which will feature up to 15 layouts plus trade support, charity raffle and light refreshments, making a total of up to 30 stands.
     
    There is free local parking on Church Hill and surrounding roads and the venue is served by Arriva bus service 477 from Dartford.
     
    NB: The Church on Sunday will be available from mid-day onwards.
     
    NB: All profits will be donated to Demelza House Children's Hospice, the Railway Children, Cherished Memories and St. Michael's Youth Work.

    The FMRC 54th Model Railway and Transport Exhibition is being held in the 60th anniversary year of the club.
    The show will feature at least 11 working layouts, preservation stands, Model engineering, model ships, model aircraft and cars.
    There will be traders both local, Crafty Hobbies, and national, Poolies Puffers, D&E Videos and ABC model railways.
     
    To find us exit the M6 at junction 36, follow the A590 towards Barrow. After you pass through Ulverston and the villages of Swarthmoor and Lindal. Then at the third roundabout turn left towards Furness general hospital. Turn right at the next roundabout, follow "Abbey Road" for smile then turn left into rating lane at the large exhibition sign. The Sixth form college is 400 m on the left.

      There will be a large selection of preowned Model Railway items including locomotives, rolling stock and accessories, mainly OO gauge.
       
      No charge for admission. 
      There will be refreshments available

      Hosted by the Ulster Model Railway Club, the Belfast Model Railway Exhibition will take place this year at Belfast Royal Academical Institution, in the heart of the city centre, Saturday and Sunday 23-24th August.  Please note the new venue for the exhibition. It will be held in the sports hall on the school campus. Access will be through the entrance gates on Fisherwick Place.  The sports hall is towards the rear of the complex.  
       
      We will have around 20 layouts, eight traders and a mix of special interest groups and modelling societies in attendance.

         Good little show. Bit biased though as I’m exhibiting at the show and have done so for a couple of years now.
       
    • Gauge O Guild Winter Show

    • The National Festival of Railway Modelling @ NEC

         Considering this is the first show by BRM I thought they did a reall good job. 
      Quibbles: I know you have to rent the floorspace by the square metere, but it got a bit crowded at times between stalls/layouts. 
      Positives: Lots of good trade support, some superb layouts, and very helpful friendly staff.
      Warley was always going to be a hard act to follow, and the organisers did well. 
      I can see this growing in the future 
    • Tyneside Model Railway Exhibition

         Drove down from Lanark early on Saturday morning (6 hour round trip!) to arrive shortly after 10am.  The first surprise was seeing my cousin showing his O gauge layout in the foyer (shown as east Glasson port authority on the programme but it wasn't that). Nice to have a chat with him as we've not met for a couple of years. Moving on to the main halls, there seemed to be plenty of space for viewing, helped no doubt by my being there so early. I'd driven down especially to see Grantham, Pelaw and Fencehouses having seen them in the mags and I wasn't disappointed so spent at least an hour swapping between the three. All three layouts exceeded expectations but it was also great to see Richmond in the flesh, it having only just appeared in print last month. I saw Alston in Glasgow in February and there's been no drop in quality. However,  my favourite (and I'm probably biased as I'm modelling the s&c) was Kirtley Bridge - what a superb layout, the quality of modelling and the atmosphere was outstanding. I think I spent around 3 hours at the show and was absolutely wrecked by the time I got home but it was well worth it. I'll be watching out for next year's dates to make sure they're kept clear.
