We have a fantastic new fully accessible venue for 2016. Close to the A2, Ebbsfleet station and Bluewater, our new venue has: Free on-site parking, a regular bus service that stops outside, wheelchair access and the usual friendly atmosphere. Our members are happy to assist those who request assistance and answer any enquiry about the Exhibition or Society.
Our new exhibition manager is so proud of this year's exhibition that he is allowing children accompanied by an adult to join us for FREE. So that means, one adult can bring several children with them and only pay £4!
Ebbsfleet railway station is only 17 minutes from Central London, 10 minutes from Stratford International and Gravesend railway station is 11 minutes from Dartford. Northfleet School for Girls is about 2-3 minutes drive from the Northfleet turn-off from the A2.
Bus route 481 serves Gravesend town centre, Ebbsfleet station and Bluewater shopping centre and stops outside the school on both days. Other regular bus services stop close by to Northfleet School for Girls. Anyone arriving by bus will be able to have one free tea or coffee on production of their bus ticket.

Address: The Silk MillDerby DE1 3AF
Day 1: 5th November 2016
Opening times Day 1: 1pm to 5pm
Prices: Free entry

Organiser: Martin Redshaw07731 [email protected]
End of the line?
Derby's Silk Mill Museum will close for refurbishment next year. Due to this, the large, 0 gauge model railway exhibited in the museum will have to be removed and put into store, while the work is carried out.
So, this is a last chance for the public to see this iconic model railway running in its current form.
The Museum will be open to the public from 1pm to 5pm, with a number of activities taking place and the friendly cafe open as usual. As well as the Silk Mill's model railway, there will also be a number of small layouts exhibited by members of the Mickleover Model Railway Group.
Come along and enjoy the ride to the end of the line (for now)!
(We'll also be looking for volunteers to help in removing the model, continuing work on it in store and then reinstating it - better than ever - when the refurbishment is complete.)

A great show, as always. Some excellent layouts. Thank you to all concerned.

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
By ianmianmianm,
Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026
By Robin Brasher,
Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.

WMRA Annual Exhibition
By Robin Brasher,
Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
