    Come along and see the full spectrum of modelling from traditional model engineering, steam locomotives and traction engines through to the more modern gadget and boys toys including trucks, boats, aeroplanes, helicopters and robots as featured on “The One Show”.
     
    Visitors can travel between the show's different zones, trying the activities and watching fascinating and technical demonstrations.
     
    Over 50 clubs and societies will be present displaying their members work and competing to win the prestigious Society Shield. In total nearly 2,000 models will be on display.
     
    All of the leading suppliers will also be present giving hobbyists an excellent opportunity to see and compare products under one roof. You will be able to purchase virtually anything you need for your next model or project or to get you started in a hobby.
     
    This is a great day out for all the family, one the children will love with all the working models. If you are interested in modelling yourself or want to rekindle you childhood memories, you will find something amongst the many diverse types of modelling on display to admire. If you are not already a modeller hopefully the exhibition will fire your imagination to build something yourself and enjoy one of these satisfying hobbies.

    Peter Middleton, who owns the Video 125 company and has filmed most of the footage, will give an illustrated talk about making videos of rail journeys throughout the UK, France and Italy.       Brighton MRC will be holding one of their occasional sales day on Saturday 16th August 2025. It will be from 1000 to 1400 at the Clubrooms on London Road railway station, Shaftesbury Place, Brighton BN1 4QS.
       
      There will be a large selection of preowned Model Railway items including locomotives, rolling stock and accessories, mainly OO gauge.
       
      No charge for admission. 
      There will be refreshments available

      Hosted by the Ulster Model Railway Club, the Belfast Model Railway Exhibition will take place this year at Belfast Royal Academical Institution, in the heart of the city centre, Saturday and Sunday 23-24th August.  Please note the new venue for the exhibition. It will be held in the sports hall on the school campus. Access will be through the entrance gates on Fisherwick Place.  The sports hall is towards the rear of the complex.  
       
      We will have around 20 layouts, eight traders and a mix of special interest groups and modelling societies in attendance.

    • Robertsbridge Model Railway Show 24-25 May 2025

         Good little show. Bit biased though as I’m exhibiting at the show and have done so for a couple of years now.
       
    • Gauge O Guild Winter Show

    • The National Festival of Railway Modelling @ NEC

         Considering this is the first show by BRM I thought they did a reall good job. 
      Quibbles: I know you have to rent the floorspace by the square metere, but it got a bit crowded at times between stalls/layouts. 
      Positives: Lots of good trade support, some superb layouts, and very helpful friendly staff.
      Warley was always going to be a hard act to follow, and the organisers did well. 
      I can see this growing in the future 
    • Tyneside Model Railway Exhibition

         Drove down from Lanark early on Saturday morning (6 hour round trip!) to arrive shortly after 10am.  The first surprise was seeing my cousin showing his O gauge layout in the foyer (shown as east Glasson port authority on the programme but it wasn't that). Nice to have a chat with him as we've not met for a couple of years. Moving on to the main halls, there seemed to be plenty of space for viewing, helped no doubt by my being there so early. I'd driven down especially to see Grantham, Pelaw and Fencehouses having seen them in the mags and I wasn't disappointed so spent at least an hour swapping between the three. All three layouts exceeded expectations but it was also great to see Richmond in the flesh, it having only just appeared in print last month. I saw Alston in Glasgow in February and there's been no drop in quality. However,  my favourite (and I'm probably biased as I'm modelling the s&c) was Kirtley Bridge - what a superb layout, the quality of modelling and the atmosphere was outstanding. I think I spent around 3 hours at the show and was absolutely wrecked by the time I got home but it was well worth it. I'll be watching out for next year's dates to make sure they're kept clear.
