After the success of using our fantastic fully accessible venue in 2016, this year's exhibition will again offer a great variety of interesting layouts, railway societies and a selection of quality trade support. We have 14 different railway layouts from Z gauge to O gauge, including two making their exhibition debut - BelmontBahn (HO) and Jongreg (OO-9) plus a slighter longer model of the Volks Electric Railway (OO-9), operated by Noel and Derek on Sunday only, that now includes Black Rock Halt, Halfway and the Aquarium stop. There will also be a number of local traders joining us plus societies are to be represented as well - such as the Southern Electric Group, the Network South-East society and the 4DD Double deck group. Don't know what a 4DD is/was? There's only one way to find out...!

Close to the A2, Ebbsfleet station and Bluewater, Northfleet School for Girls (DA11 8AQ) has: Free on-site parking, wheelchair access, the usual friendly atmosphere and a regular bus service that stops outside. Our members are happy to assist those who need assistance and answer enquiries about the Show or Society.

Once again, we are so proud of our exhibition that children accompanied by an adult are able to join us for FREE. So that means, one adult can bring several children with them and only pay £4!

An extensive range of hot and cold food and refreshments will be available. Plus on Sunday we will again be serving roast dinners with all the trimmings between 12-2pm; Beef, Turkey and a vegetarian option.

Ebbsfleet railway station is only 17 minutes from Central London, 10 minutes from Stratford International and Gravesend railway station is 11 minutes from Dartford. Northfleet School for Girls is about 2-3 minutes drive from the Northfleet turn-off from the A2.

Bus route 481 serves Gravesend town centre, Ebbsfleet station and Bluewater shopping centre and stops outside the school on both days. Other regular bus services stop close by to Northfleet School for Girls. Anyone arriving by bus will be able to have one free tea or coffee on production of their bus ticket.

Event Name: EM Gauge Society 4mm Modellers Workshop

Classification: Exhibition

Address: Wells Town Hall
Market Square
Wells
Somerset
BA5 2RB

Day 1: 4th November 2017

Opening times Day 1: 10.30am - 4.30pm

Prices: u00a35
EMGS Members Free

Disability access: Unknown

Website: http://www.emgs.org/4mm-modellers-event/

Organising body: The EM Gauge Society

Organiser: Roger Sawyer Secretary EMGS
[email protected]

This event is organised by the North West Somerset Group of the EM Gauge Society, for modellers of all abilities, as part of the EM Gauge Society Members Day and AGM.
The Workshop will be held in the upstairs Main Hall of the building. The normal Wells Saturday Market will be outside in the Market Place; with an antiques and collectables fair in the Foyer and Old Court Room. The EMGS AGM will be held in a separate room, so will not impinge on the workshop.

The aim of this 4mm Modeller’s Day is to encourage all modellers (be they 4mm of any gauge or other scales) to come and spent a pleasant day watching, talking and doing the things that make model railways such a wonderful hobby. The demonstrators will be very happy to discuss any problems you may have and, depending on the problem, give you hands on experience in sorting the problem out. Alternatively you may wish to discuss the pro’s and con’s of various gauges and if you have any rolling stock give them a run on the test track.
At no time will there be anyone telling you that you are in the wrong scale or gauge.

With the trade attendance, albeit limited, you should be able to stock up on essentials before the next exhibition.Come and learn, chat and socialize with fellow modellers.

• Immingham Model Railway Show
By SealionSteve,
A great show, as always. Some excellent layouts. Thank you to all concerned.
• Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
By ianmianmianm,
Great mix of layouts and trade,

....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!

The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

An excellent day was had by all. Keep the 30th January 2027 free.
• SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026
By Robin Brasher,
Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.

I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.

• WMRA Annual Exhibition
By Robin Brasher,
Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
