    As is previous years recently, the Preston Model Railway Exhibition will be at the Sports Hall, Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincents Rd, Fulwood, PR2 8UR.
     
    Twenty two layouts are booked to appear, including the first showing of our new 00 gauge club layout, "Euxton Junction".
     
    Free admission for an accompanied child on production of a voucher downloadable from our website.

    Every year we hold an exhibition at Forestville Memorial Halls. Our next exhibition will be held on Saturday and Sunday 4 - 5 March 2017.
    Layouts expected to be on show include:

    NSRMA's British 0 gauge layout Bullo Pill based on a dock on the River Severn, a U-Drive layout built by our youth group;

    Back of Beyond, Keith King's representation of a small country town in N
    scale;

    Bethungra Spiral, modelling a feature of the NSW Main South Line in H0 by Epping Model Railway Club;

    Gooligum, depicting a NSW Branch Line in HO gauge by Mark Chamberlain;

    Goulburn, the Guildford Model Railway Group's model of this major NSW station
    in HO gauge;

    Jersey City Waterfront, NSRMA club member David Emanuel's H0 gauge layout;

    Kansas City West Bottoms, the NMRA's US industrial switching layout;

    Koolabar, a new H0 layout by Ian Williamson of Epping Model Railway Club;

    Malfunction Junction, Paul Baker's H0 layout;

    Morewood, an H0 layout from Brisbane featuring a fictional town with
    charming landscapes by Robert Moreton;

    Mosquito Hill, an N scale layout by Daniel Thomson, inspired by seeing other narrow gauge logging layouts at previous exhibitions;

    South Bend and Hilltop Railway, Hills Model Railway Club's American themed N
    scale layout;

    Steve's Follie, an H0e layout by Steve Thomson;

    Stumar's Roundabout, Stuart Walker and Mardi Lehman's oval shaped, 2 tier
    layout with 6 different scenes;

    The Yard, Colin and Alastair McMaster and Mark Tesoriero's H0 NSW branch
    line layout;

    Uley Junction, based on Bodmin, a British 0 gauge terminus by Charles Rudder and BRMA; and

    Waterman's Cove, an N scale waterfront scene by Jamie Fergus.

    Classic Meccano - A tribute to the late Malcolm Booker who for many years exhibited at our exhibitions;

    Austrains - H0 models for the discerning modeller of Australian railways;

    Casula Hobbies - tools, parts and accessories;

    Eureka Models - NSW ready to run;

    Forest Miniatures - your local model shop for the Northern Beaches;

    Hobbyland - Hornsby's model shop;

    IDR Models - a producer of ready to run X200 and soon a 70 class diesel loco
    as well as polyurethane kits

    Matt’s Ballast – offering ballast of various types;

    The Model Railroad Craftsman - All the hard-to-find bits and pieces, including a range of DCC items;

    Model Train Buildings/Walker Models - who specialise in laser cut timber
    kits and detailed resin castings;

    Modellers Warehouse - who provide high quality scenic materials, trees,
    grass foliage and glues; and

    Southern Rail - featuring an array of new rolling stock and trackside
    models.

    The club's Bring and Buy stand will be in operation throughout the show.
    As always, we are delighted to be able to support the Riding for the Disabled Association (NSW) Tall Timbers Group who assist with running our entrance desk, raffles and all-important canteen.

      Whitby MRCs annual show returns on Saturday 18th July & Sunday 19th July 2026 10-4 in the Village Hall at Goathland (YO225JS), we have 7 layouts, Admission this year is £5, with accompanied children going for free, and yes, we do take cards!
      So far layout wise we have Spital Bridge in O and Chop Gate in EM, South 6th Street Yard in HO, and Scrayingham in 009 and more
      We are also pleased to welcome the designer of the Hornby Steampunk range who will be at the show both days with his personal layout and vintage toy collection.
      Our annual show returns for 2026 with layouts in a variety of scales and gauges.
      We are on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July 2026 10-4 each day.

      After another successful show the Chatham & District model railway club are excited and proud to announce the 2026 chatham show at the historic dockyard chatham and slip 5.
      Advanced tickets are available on our website now which are £10 instead of £11 and also means you can get in at 9.30am instead of 10am. Under 16s are free. It will have 100+ exhibitors with over 45 layouts
      List will be updated as everyone books in
      Half price entry to historic dockyard chatham with show tickets.
      Onsite parking £3.50 for up to 7 and half hours.

         Great mix of layouts and trade,
       
      ....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking......       why oh why!
       
      The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

    • SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026

         Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
      1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
      2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
      3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
      4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
       
      I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.
       
       




    • WMRA Annual Exhibition

         Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
