RAILEX is a model railway exhibition that brings together the very best layouts and traders in one huge hall at Stoke Mandeville Stadium. The emphasis is on quality and Railex has some very large layouts that are not normally seen at other shows. A free vintage bus will run from Aylesbury railway station carpark to RAILEX and return up to every half hour Saturday and every hour on Sunday. Up to two children can be admitted free with each paying adult on Sunday only.
Gordon & Maggie Gravett’s Pempoul will be making its last appearance before being retired from the exhibition circuit, while Martin Stringer’s Tollesbury Quay will be making a very rare exhibition appearance. Giles Favell will debut at Railex his new layout Denton Brook, add to this the other layouts and it looks like another top quality show.

The last Bank Holiday weekend of May 2017 sees the New Forest Model Railway Societys annual exhibition take place in the Village Hall.
Continuing this year is the use of an upstairs hall which will have 4 layouts, 2 traders and a club stand. A disabled lift is available for use. The main hall contains two large layouts for your viewing pleasure.
On offer will be 10 layouts and 10 traders in total.

Basingstoke & North Hants MRS Open Day, Sunday, 6th September 2026
I spent an enjoyable afternoon at this event today. The club members were welcoming and the set up is very good.
Pete's Royal Albert Bridge layout in N with a Peak crossing from the Cornish side with a parcels working.
Ian's 2mm FS dockside layout featuring working road vehicles and a narrow gauge factory line

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.
