Very friendly coarse O gauge 3-rail group, no membership needed. Bring your own locos and stock to run, vintage or modern, clockwork or electric or just come to watch and chat with fellow enthusiasts. Home-made snacks, cakes, tea and coffee available. Fantastic location next to the mighty Harringworth viaduct.Car parking. Bi-monthly. NB this is not an exhibition as such, the accent is on running. There is usually a bring and buy table.

An opportunity for running coarse O gauge electric and clockwork trains on 3-rail track and chatting with fellow-enthusiasts. Vintage as well as modern trains can be run so Hornby tinplate, Leeds, Bonds and even Bassett-Lowke sometimes run. Revival tinplate such as Ace, Darstaed and Seven Mill also very welcome, we can also accommodate MTH and Atlas. Mostly models of steam trains but Diesel/electric welcome too. Informal group so as long as it's O gauge and has wheels it will be welcome. Two-rail running possible on 50” radius Atlas track. Fourtracks planned: (1) 27" (Atlas) & 36" radius (Merkur tinplate) and 50" radius (Atlas) (2) 27” Radius (Atlas)

Even if you have no trains to bring, why not just come to enjoy these amazing trains running in a beautiful English village virtually underneath the eighty-two arch, 1.2 km Harringworth viaduct? A stunning location. A six-coach O gauge train measures about ten feet in length so they are amazing to watch. Close to the beautiful Rutland towns of Uppingham and Oakham. Our home-made cake is legendary, also freshly-prepared sandwiches and the usual drinks.

Please bring any O gauge buildings, stations, signal boxes, water towers, bridges, signals & ancillaries or any other die-cast models which you would like to show.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A MODEL RAILWAY EXHIBITION; THE ACCENT IS ON RUNNING TRAINS SO SCENERY ETC IS MINIMAL.

PARKING FOR ABOUT 20 CARS IN THE VENUE'S OWN CAR PARK.
    FULL DISABLED FACILITIES.

If it's got wheels and it's O gauge and you'd like to bring it along to run - we'd be delighted to see you. All-day home-made cakes, freshly-made sandwiches etc. Two trade tables plus bring and buy.

    • Immingham Model Railway Show
      By SealionSteve,
A great show, as always. Some excellent layouts. Thank you to all concerned.
    • Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
      By ianmianmianm,
Great mix of layouts and trade,

....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking......       why oh why!

The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

An excellent day was had by all. Keep the 30th January 2027 free.
    • SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026
      By Robin Brasher,
Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
      1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
      2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
      3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
      4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.

I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.

    • WMRA Annual Exhibition
      By Robin Brasher,
Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
