For 26 years, Leo and Chitra Hendriksen are the driving force behind the Eurospoor train. Started in a small hall
in the local town of Zaandam it slowly grew to become an international event for hobbyists coming to the Jaarbeurs
from far and wide. The name 'Eurospoor' for the event came almost by itself as the borders would open in 1993, making
it easier for foreigners to cross national borders with goods and layouts without much formalities.
Now for the 26th time Model railway buffs should be getting ready for Europe's largest model railway event, EUROSPOOR,
which takes place this year in the Jaarbeurs (trade fair centre) in Utrecht, the Netherlands on 9, 10 and 11 November 2018.
A surface area of 20,000 square meters will offer visitors the chance to view over 60 model railways belonging to clubs from
the Netherlands as well as other countries, extensive model train collections, working miniatures smaller than your little
finger (Z-gauge) and also enormous specimens weighing many kilograms each (gauge 1), model-making demonstrations,
stands of representatives and retailers, a model railway market of appr. 1000 meter length where train-lovers offer their
used trains, accesories and collectors' items for sale or exchange.

Harrogate Model Railway Group annual model railway exhibition
Harrogate Model Railway Group is hosting its annual exhibition at a new location, Gracious Street Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Knaresborough HG5 8AN
The new venue is located in the centre of Knaresborough, a tourist attraction in its own right. There is easy access to public transport and public car parking. The venue offers full disabled access and a cafeteria. The venue is about a five minute walk from the local bus station, served by a number of bus routes, and Knaresborough railway station, served by Northern Rail, is about a 15 minute walk from the venue. Taxis are also available.
Why not make a day of your visit? Take in the local tourist attractions, such as the castle, or River Nidd boating, along with a visit to our exhibition?

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026
Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.
