The East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition, on March 10th and 11th, will again bring together many of the very best model railway layouts from around the country.
In total there are 32 layouts for you to see in all of the popular gauges including some continental and, many have not been seen in this part of the country before.

The Summit (Draper's Sidings) by Yeovil Model Railway Group is pictured. With a footprint of 47 by 27 feet, you will not be able to miss this layout at our exhibition. The Summit is 7mm / O gauge on a grand scale and was voted Railway Modeller's Railway of the Year in 2016. The layout is loosely based on the summit of the Settle and Carlisle Railway at Ais Gill. The track layout, with the lay-by sidings, is close to what once existed here. The viaduct is based on the one at Ais Gill but the fell side has been brought closer to the railway for more immediate effect.

In contrast to The Summit, The Sidings by Nick Gurney in 4mm / OO gauge provides a modern scene in a small space, measuring just over 6 feet in length and 1 foot wide with a scenic section of only four feet. Nick has tried to incorporate several features from the modern railway including a GSM-R phone mast with cabin and trackside relay cabinets some modelled with the doors open and the associated cable trunking. The layout is inspired by York parcel sidings, where predominantly DRS locos are stabled although other operators’ locos can be seen from time to time.

Creating a local scene, Fenchurch St Peter by George Woodcock, John Norton and Richard Coleman, is also and it represents a small remote station situated in the East Anglian Fens in the area between March, Wisbech and Spalding.

For younger visitors there is a children’s layout, Shabbey Road, so that they can drive a train and we have rides inside on a 71/4 inch gauge electric train and outside on a 4 inch scale traction engine.
We have 28 traders who will be selling all the much needed items required for making the hobby come to life, and this year, we also have four demonstrators showing you various modelling techniques.

If you need a ride from Huntingdon Railway station to or from the Britten Arena at Wood Green Animal Charity Centre, Godmanchester, PE29 2NH then please use the free vintage bus service. Wood Green Animal Charity Centre offers ample free car parking, excellent food and other facilities to enjoy while you are there.
The East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition is organised by St Neots Model Railway Club. • Immingham Model Railway Show
      By SealionSteve,
A great show, as always. Some excellent layouts. Thank you to all concerned.
    • Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
      By ianmianmianm,
Great mix of layouts and trade,

....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking......       why oh why!

The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.
    • 7mm NGA Trent Valley Group Modelling Day
      By ngtrains.com,
An excellent day was had by all. Keep the 30th January 2027 free.
    • SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026
      By Robin Brasher,
Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
      1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
      2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
      3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
      4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.

I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.

    • WMRA Annual Exhibition
      By Robin Brasher,
Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
