CANCELLED - Fareham RailEx 2021Sadly we have had to cancel the 2021 Fareham RailEx - but not for the obvious reasons...
There is building work going on at Fareham Leisure Centre to provide a new entrance into the centre which effectively writes off sensible access to the lower level where the bulk of the exhibition takes place.
We are expecting to be back in 2022 subject to the venue operators being willing to have us back in their glitzy new building and announcements will be made in the usual places once the dust settles. In the meantime we may organise a series of "pop-up" events around Fareham town centre and the outlying shopping areas and community halls. Details will be posted here and on UKMODELSHOPS as we arrange them.

Pendon Museum M&SWJR Running DayOn the weekend of 2/3 October trains on the MSWJR (Midland and South West Junction Railway) will be running for the first time. This event marks the 60-year anniversary of the closure of passenger services on the MSWJR between Cheltenham and Andover Junction. Hillingdon Railway Modellers Test Track Open DayYiewsley Baptist Church Hall (side entrance), 74 Colham Avenue, Yiewsley, Hillingdon, London UB7 8HF.
Entrance £5. Open 10.00 – 15.00hrs.
Bring your O, OO or N gauge locos and trains to run on our clubs’ three separate test tracks.
DC and DCC available, but sorry no “live steam”.
Please note that this is NOT an exhibition, but a good opportunity to meet fellow friendly modellers, chat, and test out your models.
Expert help is on hand from knowledgeable club members if you have any problems with your models. Refreshments will be available all day.
This event will be subject to any further government Covid restrictions which may, or may not, be imposed.

Basingstoke & North Hants MRS Open Day, Sunday, 6th September 2026
I spent an enjoyable afternoon at this event today. The club members were welcoming and the set up is very good.
Pete's Royal Albert Bridge layout in N with a Peak crossing from the Cornish side with a parcels working.
Ian's 2mm FS dockside layout featuring working road vehicles and a narrow gauge factory line

Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show 2026
Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.
