    After a break of four years, the Risborough & District Model Railway Club will be holding its RAILEX Model Railway Exhibition at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Stadium Approach, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP21 9PP, on Saturday 27th May (10:00 to 17:30) and Sunday 28th May 2023 (10:00 to 16:30). The exhibition will feature 16 quality layouts, extensive trade support and demonstrations.     The annual model railway show of the Rother Valley Railway Supporters Association, featuring a variety of layouts and trade stands, plus the RVR's own extensive secondhand bookshop and modelling items. Take a look around the RVR's new station platform and exhibits, and view the newly installed ex-Hither Green turntable.

    Join us for our 43rd annual exhibition by the New Forest Model Railway Society!
     
    The show is being held in Brockenhurst Village Hall, with free parking available on site. The venue is also a short walk away from Brockenhurst Railway Station. As with 2022, layouts can now be found in the main building along with an annex just across the car park.

    There will also be a selection of N gauge layouts on the stage which have been provided by club members. Please note that unfortunately there is now no disabled access to the stage.

      In support of the Risborough Festival on Saturday 11th July 2026, the Risborough & District Model Railway Club will be holding an Open Day at the Princes Risborough St. Mary's Hall (Church Street) from 10:00 to 16:30. We plan to part exhibit our new O gauge layout project, as well as our Test Track for members of the public to test their rolling stock on. There will be second hand sales, refreshments and some modelling displays. Admission is FREE.

      After another successful show the Chatham & District model railway club are excited and proud to announce the 2026 chatham show at the historic dockyard chatham and slip 5.
      Advanced tickets are available on our website now which are £10 instead of £11 and also means you can get in at 9.30am instead of 10am. Under 16s are free. It will have 100+ exhibitors with over 45 layouts
      List will be updated as everyone books in
      Half price entry to historic dockyard chatham with show tickets.
      Onsite parking £3.50 for up to 7 and half hours.
      Local arriva bus from chatham train station number 1-2

      Whitby MRCs annual show returns on Saturday 18th July & Sunday 19th July 2026 10-4 in the Village Hall at Goathland (YO225JS), we have 7 layouts, Admission this year is £5, with accompanied children going for free, and yes, we do take cards!
      So far layout wise we have Spital Bridge in O and Chop Gate in EM, South 6th Street Yard in HO, and Scrayingham in 009 and more
      We are also pleased to welcome the designer of the Hornby Steampunk range who will be at the show both days with his personal layout and vintage toy collection.
      Our annual show returns for 2026 with layouts in a variety of scales and gauges.
      We are on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July 2026 10-4 each day.

         Great mix of layouts and trade,
       
      ....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking......       why oh why!
       
      The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

    • SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026

         Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
      1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
      2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
      3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
      4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
       
      I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.
       
       




    • WMRA Annual Exhibition

         Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
