    THE Show For The Railway Modeller
     
    This major two day show is dedicated to N GAUGE and is THE show not to be missed. There is a full range of modern image, steam, continental and American layouts on display; along with society displays and demonstrations.
     
    Over 30 specialist suppliers are expected to attend, showcasing all the latest models and products, making it THE place to visit and stock up on all the models and materials any model rail enthusiast could ever need.
     
    This is a hugely popular specialist railway exhibition and totally focuses on N Gauge.  Nowhere else can you see and enjoy the N Gauge scale in such volumes of either layouts or exhibitors making it the only place to see all things N Gauge.

    Following on from a very successful first event post Covid, Leigh Model Railway Society are proud to present their second Festival of Model Railways & Transport Modelling at Leigh Sports Village, Leigh Leisure Centre, Sale Way, Leigh, Greater Manchester, WN7 4JY
    Adults £5, Children 15 and under Free when accompanied by a paying adult.
    Saturday 10am - 5pm
    Sunday 10am - 4pm
    Free Parking, disabled access, café, traders, layouts, demos, raffle etc
    30+ layouts covering trains, boats, trams, planes, cars etc including the impressive Oulton TMD from Stafford Model Railway Circle

    The club is hosting its annual two-day exhibition on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September 2023 at:-
    The Abbey School. London Road. Faversham. Kent ME13 8RZ.
    Opening times are Saturday 10:00 to 16:30 and Sunday 10:00 to 16:00. 
    Admission is cash only - Adult admission is £6 and Children £3. Under 5s are free.
    We have 18 layouts and 13 Trade support stands. All spread over three halls.
    Free On-Site Car parking. Hot or cold drinks and light refreshments are available on both days.
    Ten-minute walk from Faversham railway station.

      John Ahern's historic railway will be running on a select few days a year to help preserve this incredible creation.
      Normal museum admission prices apply and there is no need to book in advance.
      Make sure to pick up a copy of our recently published Guide book which has some updated information about the MVR and is a must-have for any model rail enthusiast or anyone interested in John Ahern. You can purchase the Guide book at the museum.

      In support of the Risborough Festival on Saturday 11th July 2026, the Risborough & District Model Railway Club will be holding an Open Day at the Princes Risborough St. Mary's Hall (Church Street) from 10:00 to 16:30. We plan to part exhibit our new O gauge layout project, as well as our Test Track for members of the public to test their rolling stock on. There will be second hand sales, refreshments and some modelling displays. Admission is FREE.

         Great mix of layouts and trade,
       
      ....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking......       why oh why!
       
      The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

    • SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026

         Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
      1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
      2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
      3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
      4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
       
      I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.
       
       




    • WMRA Annual Exhibition

         Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
