    The Model Rail Show For Larger Gauges
     
    The Midlands Garden Rail Show offers visitors the opportunity to see layouts in the larger gauges and scales.
     
    The show has a diverse range of layouts in Gauge 1, O Gauge, G Scale and more.
     
    Once visitors have been inspired to build your own layout why not visit one of the many specialist suppliers at the show who are more than happy to guide you in the right direction of the best product to purchase.
     
    Visitors will see live steam model locomotives hauling coaches and wagons - the real thing in miniature.

    A two day exhibition with layouts in all the popular scales, traders, show-you-how demonstrations, club shop and a full refreshment service. Full layout / trader details to be confirmed in due course. Exhibition is on two floors with disabled access to all areas.
    Venue is close to Rainhill Station (Liverpool/Manchester line) and Arriva / Stagecoach bus srvice 10A Liverpool/Rainhill/St Helens route.
    Admission and Club Shop payment can by cash or credit card.
    There will be a free hourly vintage bus service running on SUNDAY only between the North West Museum of Road Transport, Hall Street, St Helens and the exhibition venue. Please note that admission to the museum is not included but tickets can be purchased on the door (well worth a visit - vintage buses, tram, cars, lorries, motor bikes and bicycles)

    Venue STEAM Museum of the Great Western, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EY.

    Located next to the Great western Designer Outlet, Swindon and 10 minutes’ walk from the bus & railway station, there are a number of bus service serving the designer outlet.
    Open 10.00 – 16.30
     
    Admission adult £7.00, Children under 16 free when accompanied by an adult, admission to STEAM museum is not included and is not required to visit the exhibition.

    The museum will be offering a combined discounted entry to show visitors.
     
    Amenities: The building has disabled access. Refreshments are available on site within the cafe or the outlet.
    Parking is at the designer outlet car park.
     
    Features 16+ layouts and demonstrators in N, 3mm, OO and O standard gauge representing British and Continental railways including narrow gauge, for a full list of layouts and traders please see the website for updates to both layouts and traders.
     
    There will also be a Hornby Dublo drive-it-yourself layout for the young or young at heart.

      Cupar Model Rail 2025 is scheduled for the 19th and 20th of July at The Corn Exchange in Cupar, Fife.
       
      This annual exhibition, organised by the Cupar & District Model Railway Club, has become a must-visit event in East Scotland for railway enthusiasts. The show will feature over 15 model railway layouts across various scales, quality trade stands, modelling demonstrations, and a cafe.
      Each adult admission includes a free colour show guide (while stocks last), and accompanied children (ages 0-15) can attend for free, making it an ideal family outing.
       
      The exhibition runs from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on both days.
      The venue is fully accessible, with both free and paid parking options available nearby, and is within comfortable walking distance from the Cupar railway station and the town has excellent bus connections.

         Good little show. Bit biased though as I’m exhibiting at the show and have done so for a couple of years now.
       
    • Gauge O Guild Winter Show

    • The National Festival of Railway Modelling @ NEC

         Considering this is the first show by BRM I thought they did a reall good job. 
      Quibbles: I know you have to rent the floorspace by the square metere, but it got a bit crowded at times between stalls/layouts. 
      Positives: Lots of good trade support, some superb layouts, and very helpful friendly staff.
      Warley was always going to be a hard act to follow, and the organisers did well. 
      I can see this growing in the future 
    • Tyneside Model Railway Exhibition

         Drove down from Lanark early on Saturday morning (6 hour round trip!) to arrive shortly after 10am.  The first surprise was seeing my cousin showing his O gauge layout in the foyer (shown as east Glasson port authority on the programme but it wasn't that). Nice to have a chat with him as we've not met for a couple of years. Moving on to the main halls, there seemed to be plenty of space for viewing, helped no doubt by my being there so early. I'd driven down especially to see Grantham, Pelaw and Fencehouses having seen them in the mags and I wasn't disappointed so spent at least an hour swapping between the three. All three layouts exceeded expectations but it was also great to see Richmond in the flesh, it having only just appeared in print last month. I saw Alston in Glasgow in February and there's been no drop in quality. However,  my favourite (and I'm probably biased as I'm modelling the s&c) was Kirtley Bridge - what a superb layout, the quality of modelling and the atmosphere was outstanding. I think I spent around 3 hours at the show and was absolutely wrecked by the time I got home but it was well worth it. I'll be watching out for next year's dates to make sure they're kept clear.
