    There will be the usual mix of finescale layouts, demonstrators and traders.  Why not make a weekend of it - plenty do.

    30 plus model railway layouts, trade support, demonstrations, plus steam train rides available all day. Exhibits at all stations. Local parking, disabled facilities, light refreshments.     This year the Wessex Association of Model Railway Clubs annual exhibition moves from Blandford to a new venue in Wimborne.

    Seaboard Southern Railroad Show, Saturday Sept 21th 2024
     
    The Seaboard Southern NMRA group are pleased to announce their annual exhibition showcasing model railways from the Americas. Once again, we will be hosted by our regular venue of The Charis Centre, Crawley, West Sussex.
     
    Times: 10:00 – 16:00
     
    Admission: £7 Adults, £6 NMRA members*, Accompanied U16s Free
     
    Venue: The Charis Centre, West Green Drive, Crawley, West Sussex, RH11 7EL
    For those on foot / public transport the main entrance is West Green Drive, Crawley, West Sussex RH11 7EL. It is walkable from Crawley Station or via Metrobus (http://www.metrobus.co.uk/) Route 1 or 2 (Crawley Hospital stop) from Crawley Bus Station, opp. Southern Trains station. 
     
    For those driving the car park is accessed via Town Barn Road (opp No. 38), Crawley, RH11 7ED
     
    Hot food, snack and drinks will be available on site

    [ADDED] Chica – (Ron Bailes) HO- Peter North’s classic slice of the Rock Island in the rural Southern Illinois in the 1950’s
    Hiawatha Avenue - (Chris Prior) – HO switching layout depicting Minnesota Commercial’s operations in the recent years around the grain elevators of Hiawatha Avenue in the Twin Cities
    Fort Myres (Ian Lampkin) – HO layout set in 2000’s Florida depicting a interchange between CSX and the Seminole Gulf Coast shortline. Passenger services are provided by Tri-Rail and Amtrak  
    K Street Yard – (Sutton & Carshalton MRC) A Milwaukee Road HO switching layout set between the late fifties to early seventies. Fictional location in the north of Spokane, Washington State.
    Cedar Canyon Junction – (Peter Richards) N scale. Post 1990’s railroading in the western US as served up by BNSF. UP and Amtrak.
    Fiddletown & Copperopolis Railway – (Paul Steadman) HOn30. Western narrow gauge
    Based on the cartoons of animation artist Carl Fallberg exploring the Wilder West of California by narrow gauge in the mountains.
    Broken Creek - (South Shore Group) HO – Rural railroading at the end of the line in 1950’s Iowa. Think grain elevators and agricultural supplies
    Three Bridges – (Seaboard Southern) N – Seaboard Southern’s own small space N scale layout make’s a return to public shows.

      Cupar Model Rail 2025 is scheduled for the 19th and 20th of July at The Corn Exchange in Cupar, Fife.
       
      This annual exhibition, organised by the Cupar & District Model Railway Club, has become a must-visit event in East Scotland for railway enthusiasts. The show will feature over 15 model railway layouts across various scales, quality trade stands, modelling demonstrations, and a cafe.
      Each adult admission includes a free colour show guide (while stocks last), and accompanied children (ages 0-15) can attend for free, making it an ideal family outing.
       
      The exhibition runs from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on both days.
      The venue is fully accessible, with both free and paid parking options available nearby, and is within comfortable walking distance from the Cupar railway station and the town has excellent bus connections.

    • Robertsbridge Model Railway Show 24-25 May 2025

         Good little show. Bit biased though as I’m exhibiting at the show and have done so for a couple of years now.
       
    • Gauge O Guild Winter Show

    • The National Festival of Railway Modelling @ NEC

         Considering this is the first show by BRM I thought they did a reall good job. 
      Quibbles: I know you have to rent the floorspace by the square metere, but it got a bit crowded at times between stalls/layouts. 
      Positives: Lots of good trade support, some superb layouts, and very helpful friendly staff.
      Warley was always going to be a hard act to follow, and the organisers did well. 
      I can see this growing in the future 
    • Tyneside Model Railway Exhibition

         Drove down from Lanark early on Saturday morning (6 hour round trip!) to arrive shortly after 10am.  The first surprise was seeing my cousin showing his O gauge layout in the foyer (shown as east Glasson port authority on the programme but it wasn't that). Nice to have a chat with him as we've not met for a couple of years. Moving on to the main halls, there seemed to be plenty of space for viewing, helped no doubt by my being there so early. I'd driven down especially to see Grantham, Pelaw and Fencehouses having seen them in the mags and I wasn't disappointed so spent at least an hour swapping between the three. All three layouts exceeded expectations but it was also great to see Richmond in the flesh, it having only just appeared in print last month. I saw Alston in Glasgow in February and there's been no drop in quality. However,  my favourite (and I'm probably biased as I'm modelling the s&c) was Kirtley Bridge - what a superb layout, the quality of modelling and the atmosphere was outstanding. I think I spent around 3 hours at the show and was absolutely wrecked by the time I got home but it was well worth it. I'll be watching out for next year's dates to make sure they're kept clear.
