Travelling via Car
Barton Peveril College is about 1½ miles from M3 Junction 13 or M27 Junction 5 and will be AA signed from shortly after the junctions.

Travelling via Train
Both Eastleigh and Southampton Airport Parkway stations (London Waterloo line) are about a 25 minute walk, or by bus as below.
Free Heritage Bus
Southampton & District Transport Heritage Trust (www.sadtht.co.uk) will be providing a free bus service between Eastleigh and Southampton Airport Parkway stations and Barton Peveril College. The service is expected to run approximately half hourly from about 9.30am
Travelling via Bus
Bluestar Route 2, (Southampton – Eastleigh – Fair Oak) from Eastleigh station, stops in Derby Road near Tennyson Road. It is a short walk along Tennyson Road to the back entrance to the college. Every 15 minutes on Saturday, half-hourly on Sunday.
Bluestar Route 5, (Eastleigh to Romsey, Saturday only) from Eastleigh station, stops outside the college, infrequent service (every 2 hours).

The Erith Model Railway Society's January Exhibition, one of South East England's largest shows, will be returning to the Harris Garrard Academy (formerly the Business Academy, Bexley) for our first show there since 2015. The show will continue to encompass almost 30 layouts, extensive trade and society support, demonstrators, static exhibits and charity raffle (in aid of the Association of Bexley Charities '78), making almost 90 stands in total. Please bear with us while we re-familiarise ourselves with the venue.
Venue Address: Harris Garrard Academy, Yarnton Way, Thamesmead, NR Erith, Kent, DA18 4DW.
Opening Times: Saturday 25th January 2025 - 10:00am to 5:00pm & Sunday 26th January 2025 - 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Entry Prices: Adults - £9.00. Accompanied Children - £1.00.
Entry price includes free exhibition guide.
We can accept cash and card payments on the entry desk.
The venue can be reached by Abbey Wood railway station (10-15 minute walk away), which is served by regular Southeastern, Thameslink and Elizabeth Line services.
TfL bus services 180, 401 and B11 stop in front of the venue, with 177, 229, 244, 301, 469 and 472 services stopping nearby on the A2041 road, and Super Loop service SL3 stopping at Abbey Wood station.
There is a sizeable free on-site car park, full disabled access (including toilets), a large refreshment area with plenty of seating and an extensive range of hot and cold food and drinks at reasonable prices.

0In support of the Risborough Festival on Saturday 11th July 2026, the Risborough & District Model Railway Club will be holding an Open Day at the Princes Risborough St. Mary's Hall (Church Street) from 10:00 to 16:30. We plan to part exhibit our new O gauge layout project, as well as our Test Track for members of the public to test their rolling stock on. There will be second hand sales, refreshments and some modelling displays. Admission is FREE.

0After another successful show the Chatham & District model railway club are excited and proud to announce the 2026 chatham show at the historic dockyard chatham and slip 5.
Advanced tickets are available on our website now which are £10 instead of £11 and also means you can get in at 9.30am instead of 10am. Under 16s are free. It will have 100+ exhibitors with over 45 layouts
List will be updated as everyone books in
Half price entry to historic dockyard chatham with show tickets.
Onsite parking £3.50 for up to 7 and half hours.
Local arriva bus from chatham train station number 1-2

Great mix of layouts and trade,
....but the floorplan created real bottlenecks around the entrance which was also the route between halls (via the changing rooms!) and so was already going to be busy anyway. But there were further trade stands and coffee stand put there.... creating groups of people lingering and blocking...... why oh why!
The catering van outside - ended up giving up because as we all stood queuing to buy food, nothing happening in the van, there was a lot of playing with kids and babies but the 4 people there couldn't manage to free up one to take orders.

SOUTHAMPTON MODEL RAILWAY SHOW -JANUARY 24TH/25TH 2026

Despite South West Trains' best efforts I managed to get to the exhibition on time. I had my doubts when they announced at Southampton Central Station that my train would be running non stop to Waterloo but I got on a Cross Country train that stopped at Southampton Airport. The pictures show:
1. My arrival at the exhibition on a heritage bus provided by the organisers.
2. There were a lot of people at the exhibition and a huge queue for the coffee machines. There seemed to be more people there than in previous years.
3. Essence of Ventnor in 0 gauge was one of the splendid layouts there. I saw it last year at the Brockenhurst exhibition.
4. Seaton Junction in 00 gauge was another interesting layout. There was an N gauge model of Seaton Junction at Pecorama that it donated to our model railway club so I found it interesting to see Seaton Junction in a larger scale.
I was not so lucky with my return journey as South West Trains was unable to run any trains from Southampton Central to Bournemouth and Weymouth so I ended up having to catch a taxi to Bournemouth.

WMRA Annual Exhibition

Excellent show. plenty of free parking, over 30 layouts, lots of traders and full catering. I liked the scenery on the illustrated 009 gauge Feorag layout set in an imaginary island west of Cornwall. TT:120 seems to be well received with two small oval layouts on display.
