We bring the Society’s Wycrail exhibition experience, with a high standard of quality and inspirational layouts, once again to a  “small and friendly” venue, as ‘MRX25 – Spring‘, building on the success of the Society’s Clubroom Open Days – popular with locals and experienced modellers alike.
2025 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway. Britain and the world changed forever. Railway 200 celebrates the past, present and future of rail. We at the High Wycombe & District Model Railway Society are pleased to be supporting Railway 200 with our two exhibitions during 2025 and other activities.
We’re delighted to be working once again with our sponsors, AGR Model Railway Store and The Transport Treasury.

Where does the money go? We don’t shake buckets after disasters, we fundraise before they happen. Proceeds will again go to the Water Survival Box Charity run by Rotary Chelwood Bridge who will attend to show the boxes.
    What it’s all for
Once again, we will be raising money for Water Survival Boxes. Our Rotary Club philosophy is to raise money in advance of need rather than collect it by shaking buckets of money, which almost always arrives too late. 2023 saw more than its share of disasters, and there was apparently no limit to the need for WS boxes. Amongst other places, boxes went to the flooding and cholera outbreak in Somalia, the Turkey/Syria earthquake, disasters and conflict in Sudan, two consignments to the Moroccan earthquake and more boxes to Ukraine. Members of the Rotary Club of Fordingbridge went to Midsomer Norton to pack boxes and to hand over the money collected from the 2023 Model Railway Exhibition. Our friends from the Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge will be in attendance to show visitors the Water Survival Boxes they supply.

Good little show. Bit biased though as I’m exhibiting at the show and have done so for a couple of years now.

    • Gauge O Guild Winter Show
      By LAWLOGG Editor,
A few words about the show, some pictures of us setting up our stands (and, more significantly, a comprehensive video of the attendees) are available at this link.
    • The National Festival of Railway Modelling @ NEC
      By 7013,
Considering this is the first show by BRM I thought they did a reall good job.
Quibbles: I know you have to rent the floorspace by the square metere, but it got a bit crowded at times between stalls/layouts.
Positives: Lots of good trade support, some superb layouts, and very helpful friendly staff.
Warley was always going to be a hard act to follow, and the organisers did well.
I can see this growing in the future
    • Tyneside Model Railway Exhibition
      By jacko,
Drove down from Lanark early on Saturday morning (6 hour round trip!) to arrive shortly after 10am.  The first surprise was seeing my cousin showing his O gauge layout in the foyer (shown as east Glasson port authority on the programme but it wasn't that). Nice to have a chat with him as we've not met for a couple of years. Moving on to the main halls, there seemed to be plenty of space for viewing, helped no doubt by my being there so early. I'd driven down especially to see Grantham, Pelaw and Fencehouses having seen them in the mags and I wasn't disappointed so spent at least an hour swapping between the three. All three layouts exceeded expectations but it was also great to see Richmond in the flesh, it having only just appeared in print last month. I saw Alston in Glasgow in February and there's been no drop in quality. However,  my favourite (and I'm probably biased as I'm modelling the s&c) was Kirtley Bridge - what a superb layout, the quality of modelling and the atmosphere was outstanding. I think I spent around 3 hours at the show and was absolutely wrecked by the time I got home but it was well worth it. I'll be watching out for next year's dates to make sure they're kept clear.
      Graeme
