Beatty 139
I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the arrangements for a rail tanker discharge siding, the kind of arrangement for one or two tank wagons that would serve an industrial site. The back story is an long standing factory site, post WW2 1950's-1960's where oil is becoming the cheep fuel of choice enough to justify having one or two rail tankers deliver to site. Some years ago I did some work at IMI Witton Birmingham who had such a siding long out of use but I can't for the life of me remember the arrangements, would the tankers be on a concrete or brick pad to catch spills or would at this time no one worry about the odd few gallon going on to the track bed?
