Hornby motor bogie (new type)

I am after information on the Hornby motor bogies, as used on everything from the vep/73 to the 153/Lima reissues. I have a 153, and have found the running of it perfectly ok. What I need to now is what have other people have found from these motor bogies, and as mine is packed away where I have no access to it in the near future, what are the axle sizes of said bogies?

I ask as I have a long term plan that would require using a pair of these to make a loco, but would require rewheeling with bigger wheels. The size of the loco wouldn't let me use a normal loco drive system.

Forgot to add, I am after one that would give me a 8'9" wheelbase.

I have one of these that I fitted into a Triang Blue Pullman dummy power car, and it runs very sweetly indeed.  It is capable of pulling a standard formation of 6 coaches without the need for traction tyres, though I did add some weight over the bogie.  Not sure of the wheelbase & wheel diameter, but I can measure them if it would help you?
