Bachmann 21 Pin blanking plugs and cab lighting

Not a DCC question but someone here may know.

Bachmann make two types of 21 pin blanking plug. The later diesels that have cab lighting use a different plug (identifiable by two rectangular components on the circuit) to the former non cab lit loco's. This later plug illuminates the cab lighting when the loco is used on DC but the earlier plug does not.

Bachmann only seem to sell packs of the earlier(36-058) so does anyone know a quick fix on how to make the earlier plugs operate the cab lighting?

Cheers

Andy

The two small black boxes are diodes. If your using DC  ? your best option is to try and source a spare blanking board with these extra components fitted, most discard these when fitting DCC decoders to locos.

Apart from the diodes being missing on the board version you have, the connection at J2 solder pads is also missing, hence the cab lights which are wired to the Aux 1 output (green wire) don't work/are not connected.  Compare the 2 board versions below.
