The human side of the railway, books about diesel era drivers.

Over the past few years I've been buying the old bradford barton books written by ex steam drivers/firemen about there lives on the railway. I'm currently reading esserys book on firing at Saltley which I am thoroughly enjoying.

I've managed to get many books on drivers tails of steam mainly because bradford barton wrote a list in there books of other titles.

I'd really like to read about some of the diesel drivers & there tails if there are any books out there. If anyone could recommend titles feel free to post.

I find reading about people's lives fascinating & so far each driver or fireman's tail has been unique so I'm guessing a diesel driver will be no different.

Cheers

Bradford Barton published a book "Diesels a drivers reminiscences" by Colin Jacks or maybe listed as L.C.Jacks.

Was in the same series as the books you have been reading, I think Jacks did a steam memories book before the diesels one.

It can be a bit I love steam/hate diesels in parts but is worth a read.
