RMweb Premium wagonbasher Posted August 5, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 5, 2015 there are a couple of threads that cover some research that Andy York and myself have explored whilst starting a representative model of cannock chase military railway (takeroo) If I am honest we have done a lot more than the threads show. a friend is going to build Avonside B3 0-6-0 1742 which was supplied new to the chase in 1916 and was named number 16. This coincided with Longmoor taking responsibility for the chase and a number of other military railways around the UK. Prior to that it had been a mixture of old ex colliery locomotives like MW K class... The liveries of the WW1 narrow gauge locomotives operating in the continent is well understood but I can't find anything on standard gauge UK. They bought at least one further B3 which is preserved and that is Woomer... Does anyone know if there was a set livery for standard gauge military locos, logos, lining, numbering? If no such livery existed, what was the Avonside default ex works colour. Any help would be appreciated Andy Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
