Dan Griffin
Good Afternoon, My son has a Bachmann US HO scale Thomas and friends Gordon 4-6-2 loco. i have fitted a dcc chip and the loco runs well enough on straight track, but when it comes to curves the loco runs erratically and crabs slightly. the curves are 3rd radius, so not 'train set tight'. his Henry has the same basic 4-6-0 chassis and runs like a swiss watch. would it be the back-to-backs slightly out? or could the side rods be catching? any help would be great. thanks
34theletterbetweenB&D
If the two chassis are the same base design, then you can make the comparisons directly for characteristics like back to back, to see if there are any differences. If the pacific tender hangs off a hook positioned at the rear of the cab, then most likely the crabbing on the pacific is because of the greater off centre action of the drag from the train compared to a 4-6-0. Does the pacific crab less when run without the tender?
