RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted October 5, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2015 HI all, OK - Time to have a look at some of the more 'different modelling opportunities' that the YVT can offer - IF you want it to. YVT - Crew bus and caravan Just been advised this is a Dodge A-100 - debate whether this was designated as a mini bus or Side Window Van? Now confirmed as Dodge A-100 Bus - and you can get it in 1:87 scale! (Photo credit - as per name on photo) YVT - MOW Truck - A2 - Chevrolet - 1928 YVT - MOW Truck - A3 - Mack - 1927 YVT - MOW Truck - A4 - Dodge - 1950 Pick-up YVT - MOW Truck - A5 - Chevrolet - 1956 YVT - MOW Truck - A6 - Chevrolet Bucket Truck - 1968 (Photo Credit - All - Andy 298) Unsure of owner - sent to me via Facebook. YVT - MOW Truck - A7 - 1955 International Harvester RC160 (Photo Credit - All - Andy 298) Photo Credit - Unknown - Sent to me via Facebook YVT - MOW Truck - A8 - Ford Dump Truck - 1963 Now trying to match the one below to Ken's list - Cannot see which it would be - or is it something later that isn't on the list? YVT - MOW Truck - A? - ??? - ???? (Photo Credit - All - Andy 298) Latest info - apparently this may be a Chevrolet Kodiak ex Power Service Utility Truck? That just about covers it - I think! Now it's down to finding out if any of these, at least the right make and model, are available in HO scale. Thanks
298
A4 was a 50's Dodge flatbed truck, for you could use a Busch Chevrolet pickup. (There is quite an extensive list in the back of Ken's more recent book, incidentally the bottom photo of A-6 with the small flat wagon isn't mine, and I can't remember seeing it before either....) doctor quinn
The blue one looks like a 70s/80s International, it's a bit "squarer" than a Ford L series, I think the original Boley models may have had this cab. Nick

Hi Andy, Yes - seen that and updated my list - added another photo as well! Still not sure what the Blue one is - nothing on Ken's list seems to match it. 298
The blue one is a fairly recent acquisition, I think someone there told me it was donated by a utility company. I suppose it would be A-9 in the series. (I once considered getting "A9 YVT" from the DVLA but having a personalised plate based on your modelling interest is probably a step too far. And only Brummies have personalised number plates anyway...)
Glorious NSE
I think it might be a slightly older international than the Boley, Maybe do a compare with the cab on the Herpa 'u-haul' van?
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted October 15, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2015 Hi all, Slight 'bump' as I've edited and added some bits to the initial posting! Photos of these things seem to be very scarce indeed. Anyway - will keep on looking - sometimes things turn up from the most unexpected places and people. I now know that one of the teachers at Davis is from just up my road - very close indeed! Her parents will ask to see if she is willing to get photos, explore etc. Thanks
