3-car Class 144

Hi All,

 

Has anyone else produced a 3-car class 144?  Although I have a couple of nice new Realtrack ones, I have a DC Kits resin one too, and a second unbuilt kit.  I'm thinking of slicing it up to produce a centre car to create one of the 3-car WYPTE versions, and wondered if anyone had done the conversion before and had any suggestions, hints or tips?  Obviously I'd need to replace the cab end with the inner end from the second car, and then add the extra doors, and do likewise with the chassis, but if anyone has any good detail pictures, of their model or the real thing, it would be appreciated.  Its probably not going to be a very highly detailed model, not alongside the Realtrack version, but its something different and a nice follow on to my 155 conversion, 3-car Northern 158 and Northern Spirit red and silver 158/9.  I just hope Realtrack don't announce the 3-car version in a few weeks!
