Lost the "most recent" blobby

Recommended Posts

In the "View New Content" page there is a vertical light blue vertical bar to the left of the titles list. There used to be a darker blue blobby that you could right click o to jump to the first unread post in that topic.

The blue blobby seems to have vanished along with its link.

Nothing new at this end and it was there yesterday. Following the link in the email notification still works ok but, of course that only takes one to topics where a post has been made.

Any ideas?

I also had a one off hit from RMWweb this morning - as everyone probably is aware I use NoScript and the site was temporarily blocked by a "Application Boundaries Enforcer" after following the first email link of the day.

???

I've just assumed your permissions and settings and tested from this end and all looks OK so it must be something local rather than server side. All bars and blobbies intact.

Have you tried turning it off... ?

No still missing here - no didn't turn off noscript (I'm not that daft)

<td class="col_f_icon short altrow">
<a title="Go to first unread post" href="http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/104356-newton-craig/?view=getnewpost">
<img alt="New Replies" src="http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/public/style_images/master/t_unread.png" class="syylazqcolrqivyvfgkp"><br>
</a>
</td>

I've just dug into the code , it is still getting through and there is nothing at all foul in there. No js.

Nothing else on the site seems odd.

I copied the image link into a separate browser window and it displays just as it should do

Testing here

Just doesn't make any sense - why just this image? and yet can still see the image in a separate browser call?

Oh yes, I tried the Ctrl+f5 - Tx but no change.

Hi Kenton,

What on earth is this:

src="http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/public/style_images/master/t_unread.png" class="syylazqcolrqivyvfgkp"><br>

That (red) obviously explains your problem, although I can't imagine where it is coming from.

This is what I'm seeing:

src="http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/public/style_images/master/t_unread.png" alt="New Replies"><br>

 Which theme are you using?

regards,

Martin.

No idea. Same as forever. I can' change it ... that link at the bottom of the page has never worked ... it just refreshes the page.

or jumps to the list if clicked on from another tab opened on a topic ... I guess it is another one of those links hidden inside javascript (why do that when a html link is perfectly usable :(

Sorry about all the mess in that quote - that is what I get with the "Reply quoting this page"

But that class cannot be at fault. As in that post above all I did was enclose the html from your post inside the usual

[img=...]
so no additional class - yet still it is not visible. but put it in separate browser tab and it can be seen.

I have also tried shutting browser down, even logging out and back in again. Must be something at this end but at a complete loss.

No idea where the syylazqcolrqivyvfgkp has come from unless it was put in by Firebug (used to determine the code under that element in the browser)

This is the Change Theme link:

<a class="" rel="nofollow" id="new_skin" href="#" title="Change Theme">Change Theme</a>

You could maybe switch on javascript just long enough to change it?

Or if not ask Andy Y to change it for you.

Martin.

Yes that is the same as I have here but it doesn't do anything other than reload the page href="#" - somewhere in the site js must be acting on the id "new_skin" and performing some behind the scene redirection. (a pretty dumb way of doing things if you ask me ... but then it is what it is - and about as dumb as having two different input editor content processing methods) I cannot see why the Change Theme would have any effect as I cannot/have not changed it and Andy has already indicated that there has been no serverside changes today.

I accept it must be this end - but haven't a clue.

Not necessarily. That class name (my red) looks suspiciously like some sort of infection on the server.

CMS systems are notoriously vulnerable. I have recently installed a couple of wikis on my site and been astonished by the level of hits they are getting -- hundreds of times more than the rest of the site put together. I'm thinking of deleting them.

I've just changed your theme to see if that makes any difference for you.

I can't shed any light on 'syylazqcolrqivyvfgkp' either.

Andy, thanks for bothering, and effort. I cannot see any difference in theme, still same colours and layout as far as I can tell.

Is there a specific change in appearance to notice?
